I seen ( a guy I work with says seen, so trying to be funny) - Really disciplined, except Kerstter - Hard, Hard defense hitting - great run D - The players stayed and most held up Horns - Joshua Moore, wow - Ossia see above - I’ll not fault Herman for not doing the Dbag score late. Come on guys, geez.
Let me add ... I seen hope and I seen a run game to set up the pass!!! Oh and a tight end making plays!
I was at the game few observations When Baylor's team ran on the field it looks like they only have 1/2 a team Texas was so flat in the 1st half - couldn't get the offense going Defense looked very good but Ossai is hurt. He went back in at end of the game and looked to re-aggravate some injury The crowd was small - I'd guess 15% full The South enzone project is Huge The eyes was played quickly - most of the players were still shacking hands with the Baylor players - the song turned on and the LH players didn't run off the field I would have rather seen the players go to the south enzone with the students Good win - Baylor not a good team
This was a win that most of us predicted. Baylor is not a good team. Texas has a lot of talent but for some reason is not showing it. They are playing around 60 percent of their potential. Their heads are still not in the game. They cannot beat Okie Lite or Iowa State the way they are playing. It is still Hermans task to turn this around. Past experience has shown he does not have that capacity.
They won. They covered. I did not see that coming. They can beat anyone in Big 12 if they stay disciplined My only criticism today is defending the QB draw ... clean that up and who knows
Dang Sabre, I told my friend to take Baylor in her pick em league at plus 9.5 ... thought we would win but not by that much
We tried a little too hard to establish the run. Baylor didn't try hard enough. Only 11 handoffs during the game. They've done that a fair amount lately, even though they have some talented RBs.
one other observation... I love those vintage white uniforms! Old school, blue collar, get to work, uniforms. Refreshing
We beat a team that missed 3 weeks of practice and had only played 2 games. Couldn't even blow them out, I'm not impressed. With a decent coach, this team should easily be 5-0 with zero close games. We've played 5 really bad teams and are fortunate to be 3-2.
I say tap the brakes. Aside from UTEP (maybe the worst team playing), we’ve had one decent game, yesterday, against a depleted team that had only played two prior games and had been practice limited. It is impossible to measure whether or not any progress has been made based on the game yesterday. Until I see otherwise, I will assume not.
I saw progress - sure tackling most of the time. I saw progress - Ingram held the ball like he was in love with it. I saw progress - limited number of dumb-assed penalties. There is no need for pure pessimism, but no sign that pure optimism is warranted either.
Sangre, I agree about Ingram and the penalties, though Kerstetter's counts for at least three stupid penalties: 1. He is a senior 2. He is a four year starter 3. It was he second game in a row to commit such a penalty. As for the tackling, there were still a lot of guys going for the big hit and not wrapping up. They got away with it a lot more than in other games but it still happened a lot. I saw JJ Watt get penetration today and come face to face with the RB. He could have gone for the KO, but instead he grabbed the back in huge bear hug. It was text book. Right out of the DKR video.
