Saw some of the Pokes game vs. ISU. Stillwater was rockin'...and at 50% capacity. Anyone making the journey up? Any early predictions on outcome?

I hope our guys dress up and play like a real football team.

If we do, anything is possible. A win over a top 10 team would do a world of good...

Watched the game on dvr. Pokes are good. Stopping the qb will me biggest challenge IF Sam brings his best performance, ie does not underthrow the deep ball.

In their first few games, the Pokes’ defense looked pretty salty. They’re a good team.

Haven't seen OSU play, but I've seen us. Based on what I've read about them and seen of us, I'd say we will not win this game. I have zero faith in our defense to make critical stops. But unlike some of the teams we play, I don't think OSU necessarily approaches a game vs UT with maniacal fervor. They beat us so regularly that it's just another game for them. So maybe our intensity is greater than theirs and we win.

In other words, what the hell do I know?

It's almost like he passes a lot more often when we're behind in the 2nd half, and like we have a coach who really goes heavy on churning clock when he has the lead late, more so than most.

It would help if we stopped trying quite so many plays that involve Sam throwing it up for grabs deep and that need the WR to just outsprint or overpower the defender in the matchup to succeed. I'd love to see more medium routes to the middle (which Sam generally excels at) and more of the deep routes involving pump fakes and double moves (the disadvantage of those being the time needed, but Sam is great at buying his receivers extra time).

That's an interesting stat. The importance of a solid ground game to this offense...

And what is with all of the play calls which apparently call for him to sprint backwards 10+ yards at the snap?
I'm serious....not reading pressure...but immediately upon snap and catches rolling away back and out. About 5-6 plays per game. If it is suppose to be some kind of bootleg it is the worst version of it I've ever seen. They need him to stand in the pocket a little more sometimes I think......if there is a pocket, that is. LoL

No Coach! We said "get out there and wrap arms with your TEAM when the school song is played."

And he's at it again... Hey now, watch where your hand goes, Coach!

    Chop,

Come on; it's not like he's Kliff Kingsbury. That said, notice there is a girl between the one the QB has his arm around and Mike.

I wonder if Coach TH will yell at Gundy again. I actually enjoyed that scene.

Mike knows better. QBs have been known to transfer for such actions. That and he doesn't have a Patrick Mahomes sitting on the bench.

What's going on with Gundy and the QBs hands here??
A little extra love there for the signal caller...

Chuba Hubbard is a better than average RB. He’ll be in Heisman contention after playing the vaunted Texas D.

    Maybe...
But many were saying the same thing last year and we shut him down

But wasn’t their QB terrible last year? Hard to run if the defense only has to play that. They have a very good qb this year from what I saw in the isu game.

Same guy I'm pretty sure...unless he was hurt when we played them.. and I do not recall that being the case.
Hey. .either way...I'm not sayin...hey he could ball lights out Saturday. Theres just some guys you keep hearing about and seeing for a few years in your league and keep waiting to see "it"....and at some point you say they're just an average Big12 QB. He's not some big scary monster wrecking the league.

Edit: looked it up...he was their QB all last year, including when they played us.....but, to be fair, was just a RS freshman....so that alters a little of my perception stated above^^^^^ I thought it was his 3rd year or at least that he played some in 2018.

I remember '18 now....they had two guys rotating...and some big lumbering what's his name QB ran the winning score around the end on us to win a tight one we should have had.
For the record, we should have won by 16+ last year if not for some special teams gaffes late and boneheaded coaching decisions. We were in much more control than the final score indicated

Right tackle from what I’ve seen is slow and can’t block. Other than that ...

Spencer Sanders is their QB. 20-29 passing, 235 yards, 1 TD, 2 int. 70 yards rushing. Played a solid game against ISU.
