You've heard it already. This narrative...a reality, really....has gotten enough play now that it could prove the dagger for an already ailing program. The potential, and likely impact of this narrative surrounding the program, will impact recruiting for the foreseeable future, and even a dramatic turnaround for this season would be unlikely to change it.. barring we end up winning out
and send a bunch of dudes to the league at years end...both unlikely to occur, anyway. And if the season happens to go much further South...which I for one doubt,
and something good doesnt happen on draft day...well, look out below.
I do not believe this all falls on Tom...I do not. But I do believe the only potential remedy for both the perception, affect on recruiting wars, and the reality of it is to make a dramatic coaching change in the form of a Urban Meyer type. Not saying we should, just saying only way to remedy quickly and minimize damage if that were our goal.
If you dont already think this narrative is a very serious threat to an already tenuous position the program is in, then you are grossly underestimating the situation
Texas ranked among worst college football teams in developing recruits
Sorry guys....I really wanted to be positive and even have some fun this week. The next battle in this war is won or lost Saturday between the lines....but I'm tellin you this wont go away quickly or easily and is already a major problem for us.
