another savior of the program has drifted away. Never happened before.

Many sure bet 16 year olds have failed to pan out and people under the radar have arisen. Get a grip

What if UM is not interested? Or his interests lie elsewhere? Or he would not fit in here and bolted in a year? Etc.

What if we win out this year? Not likely but a definite possibility.

If we have a civil war over this election will it interfere with spring practice? Will I be able to drive to the Spring Game if my route is occupied by opposing forces? There are so many contingencies to worry about, aren't there?

I’m a bed wetter because it don’t make a **** to me if they win out. It’s absurd to think they would, but the quicker Mensa Binder is gone, the better.

Why would the #1 QB in the country stay in the state if he can go elsewhere and shine and win a natty? Texas hasn't proven in the last TEN years (make that 11 years this season) that they can field a consistent winning program that puts players in the NFL. Lots of other schools already doing that. Looks like Texas is not convincing anyone times are changing....

At least we will get the most WOKE high school players now. That will surely make us a success on the field :yippee:

George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

Though I've grown indifferent, I take solace in the fact that my school is a premier volleyball school.

    Huisache,

meyer’s contract will have a buyout that makes it financially unrealistic he will leave.

    HIC,

Thinking that winning out will save Herman, is much like thinking an extra Vitamin C tablet will cure your cancer.

Not even if Herman wins out and beats Alabama in a bowl is he salvageable.

We choke in volleyball, too. We are a swimming and diving school.
Regarding Quinn: It's not that he's not coming to Texas that is the problem. It's that he's decommitting. It's a bad look. Other schools have decommits too, but we have more than our share. And it's become a national narrative. The program is in big trouble. Again. Still. Eleven years of failure. No end in sight.

After the cluster f**k that was Billie Powers, the only way to bring Saban is to send McConnaughey (sp) to sell Terry on the idea.

What they are being told is, "You don't know who your coach will be".

There are very clearly some people here who do not fully grasp the headwinds and realities facing the program right now. I have never, ever, been one to overreact or freak out on news...especially recruiting news...nor to overreact positively. These instances occurring ATM are certainly not derived from typical attrition and the narratives surrounding the program right now are more negative than at any time in the past 25+years, and that is understating. Things can change....but make no mistake we are in a very tenuous position.

Here is one more piece on the state of program, and specifically the Ewers decommitment...

Quinn Ewers just drove home the sad reality of Texas' status

All we can do is get ready to root tomorrow. I wish Quinn could have at least let us get through this game first....it will be on some players minds. A win tomorrow will take over the news cycle and we need it bad, so let's hope it occurs and we'll have something to celebrate.

At least the stadium got a new paint job. If nothing else I'll always thank Herman for that.

Just my 2 cents. I bet that Quinn saw like the rest of us that TH showed his real colors and lost his respect of TH. When he saw the social justice mess, not singing our school song and a total lack of leadership and how divided the team is. Why would any great kid want to come to this $hit $how? After all his friends and family would become fans that TH would throw under the bus. And the OL would not protect him correctly if their heart was not in the game. He will now most likely join the Brockermeyer twins at Bama or say hello to Dabbo.

I'm not sure it matters who is playing QB as long as the O-Line stinks, and there is no semblance of a running game. Might want to recruit some 5-Star O-lineman first.

This was the sign to me before the season started that TH was in trouble - he cannot recruit OL to save his soul. The Brockermeyers thing was telling in this regard. He can't even get legacy OL to come here.

Just to show-up Herman UM probably would work for free the first year. Very bad blood between the two of them.

Without the Texas tradition and culture, it’s no longer The Texas Longhorns. Without removing Herman and CDC, we are SFA, Texas State and Sam Houston.

Exactly who in the hell do you propose we get to replace Del Conte? Name ONE AD that is worth a ****.

Clue - There ain't ONE, much less one that would come to Austin.

The Billie Powers legacy lives on
