After many years and PMs, @WorsterMan and I were finally able to meet for what I consider to be the Gold Standard of barbecue in Fort Worth, Angelo's. Had a great evening. He's the good looking one on the right. Thanks, buddy.
@horninchicago sighting & evening was a pleasure fur shure amigo. Great 5-star BBQ, frosty mug beer, and many dead animals on the walls with a couple of large brown bears. And, yes, we discussed the greatness of HF and gossiped about many of it's "interesting and colorful" posters!
Hope you guys had plenty more to consider and discuss than me, otherwise I'm calling BS and that y'all had a really boring evening.
Love the pic! Hey I know that guy on the right... nice to see his photo outside of the post office for once
My understanding is that in order for the photo to be taken, they were both required to be leg shackled to the bear.
My bad but somebody had to be there to provide PTSD counseling support for your server and the three tables closest to y'all or the desert course would have never come.
Point of order is called for by mb227: Yes. Some posters were CUSSED and sum-******* were dis-cussed over beer and BBQ !!
Glad you guys got to meet and had a great time - wish I could have joined you. I've eaten many times at Angelo's (convenient to Lockheed and to Carswell), but I've found another place that gives Angelo's a run for the title - try Shady Oak BBQ in North Fort Worth. It's about a half-block north of Fossil Creek Golf Course; when my bunch of retirees play Fossil Creek, we immediately head to Shady Oak for lunch. They feature hot bread, brought to your table straight out of the oven, and it's hard to describe how good the bread is - and the lunch gets better from there. PM me next time and I'll see if I can join the group!
I’m up for trying that. Angelo’s is my favorite probably because I have been going there since 1974. Didn’t know you are in Fort Worth. Will let you know next time.
