Does anyone else think th Dr Pepper fans zone ad campaign is horrible ??? #BringBackLarry He got game ...
I think most commercials are bad. Some are funny, some are informative, but most are irritating and make me wonder where they find those advertising and marketing professionals...in an alley or gutter?
I sort of like them, plus it has the Boz. Would be better if there was a story line with all the ads - I don't recall their being one, just each add is a stand alone. Still, for a chemical tasting soft drink, started as a way to get rid of Baylor's medical waste, they've done a lot to improve the image of the product.
No because... if you remember the "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends! We're so glad you could attend step inside, step inside.." Dr. Pepper ad campaign then you now have that song stuck in your head.
Damn it, Nash. I had purged that song from my mind. ELP was great, that ad group jingle was worse than listening to Floyd Tilman drag out "I Love You So Much It Hurts".
They were better last year especially the "Lacrosse is a gateway sport" one. This year they just seem lacking probably because of the covid stuff affecting everything.
There are worse things than having Karn Evil 9 stuck in your head... (but then again, I actually like ELP)
And I started down a Wikipedia trip...did you know Palmer of ELP helped form Asia and was their drummer?
That is why on their tour known as "An Evening with Keith Emerson & Gregg Lake" they did not perform certain great ELP songs because they were at odds with Palmer, who was on tour with Asia in Australia. Two comments: I was disappointed with the missing songs, and surprised how fat Greg Lake had gotten. They were at a small venue in downtown Houston next to the Hard Rock Cafe.
He did get fat and the smoking caught up with his voice a little, but still sounded okay. Emerson's keyboard playing was amazing, though. Watching live footage of him playing Karn-Evil 9 while chewing gum and looking like he was thinking about something else was incredible.
Why yes...yes I did. I still ALSO maintain that anyone who missed out on seeing ELP live missed a helluva show...watching Keith Emerson throwing those daggers between keys of the piano was a thing of beauty. Later shows COULD be painful on the ears when Lake tried to take the solo vocals...his voice did NOT hold up well as he got older.
HIC, There was a young entertainer from Houston, who played mostly lounges in Vegas. Latter years he dressed like Elvis, but never tried to be an impersonator. He died of lung cancer before he was 40, even though he never smoked a single cigarette or joint in his life. MD Anderson (back when it was a quality hospital) diagnosed second hand smoke as the cause of his death.
