    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

12.5 feet ? I know he is very important, but that seems much taller than statues of Earl and DKR....

WM, that’s the trick. You see, CDC is no dummy. The statue is state of the art and fully digital. As soon as it hears the Eyes, it’s right arm rises up to show the Hook’em hand sign. Quite devilish I say. Also needs to be tall so everyone on the field can see it.

TV broadcast will probably not show the players that are honored on the field at Halftime (if they do that). It would be allsome if any of you that attend the game can return here sometime later and list who you remember being recognized or perhaps spoke to the crowd.

I'm thinking off the top of my head from that team, maybe:

    On Offense:

    Eddie Phillips
Cotton Speyrer (broke his arm in ou game and was out rest of season)
    Bobby Wuensch
    Jerry Sisemore
    Mike Dean
    Bobby Mitchell
    Jim Achilles
    Steve Worster
    Billy Dale
    Jim Bertelsen
    Donnie Wiggington

    On D:

    Bill Atessis
    Bill Zapalac
    Scott Henderson
    Stan Mauldin
    David Arledge

WR & DB Danny Lester filled in for Cotton and later passed away during a truck accident a few years after the season. Not sure whom else from that team is gone. Some of you or @SabreHorn prolly know.

What a team...fortunate to be in at Texas during those championship years. Went to high school with Atessis and Wuensch.

Yes, it was in the Southeast corner of the South endzone before all the recent construction. IIRC DKR statue is about 6 - maybe 7 feet tall.

I don’t see how we’ll have bowl games outside of the top 4. It we may actually just have a top 2.

Well, if he isn't out of the athletic department for the rest of his HS career, then something is truly screwed up in Edinburg.

I don't agree with him. After a conficted criminal has done his time, then yes he deserves a second chance, but not before !!!!!!!! You agree with Saban ?..... Yet nobody wants to give Art Briles slack for not kicking players to the curb on "allegations"......******* hypocrites.

Apparently, all this young man did was: (1) possession of marijuana, and (2) possession of a handgun in the glove compartment of his car. Of course, give the guy a second chance.

However, if he had: (1) killed, (2) maimed, (3) raped or sexually assaulted, (4) committed a home invasion, or (5) any other serious violent crime (other than a plain ol' *** whoopin--of another MAN--that wasn't unprovoked or life threatening*) then there should be no second chance at playing college ball. There's a big difference.

*in other words, not just a mere barroom fight, a fight over a girl, a fight resulting from an insult, etc. -- without any serious/permanent injuries resulting therefrom.
