Maybe we should pitch in to get Shelly a parachute?

Based on the Saban deal rumors and excitement and how that worked out...I wouldn't be getting too worked up over these stories.
Not to say I dont think he is likely coming, but.....

The website reporting this nonsense is a brand new website as of yesterday. But it is on the internet so it has to be true.
This smacks of a 14 year old kid copying an idea from the Saban rumors.

The dynamics around this and what happened or didn't with Saban are totally different, IMO. Much less consensus on people wanting Mack gone as opposed to Binder.

Also, Mack had clout and a track record to push back on. Mensa has nothing. He gone.

I know he gone but we need to chill on UM until it is officially official... if that does happen. Feelin way too aggy here...

If we miss out on Urban, not sure anyone out there is worth getting. Might be better to wait a year, unless we can pry Dabo or Saban away. Not likely.

Texas does not need to miss on Meyer. His resume is too good and there isn’t anyone close who is a candidate. It will take a big name to get this shipped turned, on the field and in the recruit’s living rooms.

If not Texas then who. Fill the money bags and get it done! And start the succession plan for post-Meyer now!

This may be a good time to revisit this podcast.

"On this week's interview edition of The Flagship Podcast, long-time Ohio State beat reporter Bruce Hooley joins the show for an in-depth look at all Meyer has to offer as a head coach if the time were to come for the Longhorns to make a coaching change. After covering Meyer extensively during his time in Columbus, Hooley delivers the good, bad and ugly about the former Buckeyes' head coach, and how Meyer's burning desire to win has led to him finding success at major universities as a head coach."

If Meyer comes here and doesn't live up to sky-high expectations, some would start to believe the program is beyond saving.

No, it would mean that UT requires a coach with a certain skill set.

I do worry about getting someone like UM after their best effort. Does he still have the gas in the tank to build another program into a powerhouse? What’s left to prove?

In the podcast I posted, it was stated that he has a desire and motivation to become the first person to win NCs at 3 schools. Texas gives that opportunity.

It’s all about ego with these types, as it was with Saban. That’s why they keep coming back. Meyer has plenty in the tank if, in his mind, it means coaching immortality...

You need something more to worry about unless it's your millions on the line. Compared to the last decade, I'll take my chances.
