You really think an undersized safety gets drafted in the NFL? You really see Sterns trying to bring down Derrick Henry? Like LJH and a many other Jr's, they think more highly of themselves than they should. He better run a legit 4.4 or he has no hope of playing in the NFL and even with that it's questionable. If he has legit speed, why has he never returned punts? If he's smart he comes back one more year or transfers out. Just doesn't look NFL ready to me.

I know it doesn't happen, but anytime a player anywhere pulls this ****, I'd really like to see the school yank the scholarship and send the player a bill for everything they've paid for the year...

I think he’s ranked 7th best DB in the draft as per a dude on ESPN.

He had 4 pics his freshman year. 1 since. At 207 (and my guess is that's a stretch) that's super small for a free safety. Not impossible, but small. I wish the kid all the best. He came in as the next LT, but it never really materialized for him. Injuries were a big part of it. Wish he could have had one healthy year after his freshman year. Guess that chapter is closed. Next man up.

All I know is that on his "attempted tackle" on ISU's first TD he didn't look NFL-ready to me. It looked like he was already trying to not get hurt.

Part of Burton on Sterns and Cosmi

"I think we can all agree that Sam Ehlinger has endured a pretty rough and tumble four years as the starting QB at Texas. Not just riding the roller coaster of emotions of wins and losses, but physically, he has given his body to the game and his team.

So when Sam Cosmi, a team captain, elects to opt out and go pro two or three games early, thereby leaving Ehlinger theoretically more exposed than before, I’m sorry if I don’t clap for Cosmi on his way out the door no matter how he performed in his career.

Nor do I clap for Caden Sterns. Another captain who wasn’t really a captain after all...."

Rick, man....you're hitting on something here that goes beyond the gridiron.
#1 in this life is you have to come to a point where you are willing to set aside "your truth" so that you can find the truth. It applies at all levels to all people in all subjects. I still recall the day I got sick and tired of mine.
This guys strikes me as someone who, like I was, will be a slow, stubborn learner of this^^^^ all-important fact of life.

Going to play it over the PA off an ipod?
Don't forget, half the band woke now.
I'd have told them when you come to Texas on band scholarship there are requirements in representing this school.
No one is forcing you to play The Eyes, but, if you do not feel you can in good conscience do it, there's the door and a basket where you can leave the schollie on your way out.

Speaking of the OL and Sam trying to stay upright, sounds like
Christian Jones to LT (although he is not very good)
Jake Majors at center if no Kerstetter, who is wearing a walking boot (JM played in part of 1g - UTEP late)
Reese Moore at RT (has never played a snap but did have an early-season knee scope) - although Kerstetter could also play here if he is healthy
    OGs are Angilau and Okafor

The other options at LT are Andrej Karic and redshirt freshman Tyler Johnson

New rule; opting out means reimbursing a pro-rated portion of the scholarship using the total number of games played versus total games as an allocation method.

Schollie or not... If you want to be a part of the BAND, you WILL play the school song with pride. If you can't do that you won't be in the band. Its that simple. We don't need 300+ people in the band. Just those patriotic and loyal few who will represent this university !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, because of the 'rona-crazed world that is allowing opt-outs without consequence, my guess is that, at least for this next Pro Day, they get access to the facilities.

At this point in the season, could a RS play without the shirt being burned?

Can't blame her for posting something generic and plauditory. It almost never works out well when players' or coaches' family members not part of the actual program go into "brutal honest" mode over social media. What would it do to our recruiting if word got around that the coach's wife is loudly bad-mouthing anyone who declares for the draft early?

Best tackle I saw him make all year was the un-called pass interference on the West VA WR in the end zone, at the end of that game.

Some Captain - quits during the season. Just another turd that needs to be flushed down the commode.

I figured it would come to this when players started quitting before the bowl game. Soon you'll have them quitting mid-season, after a loss to OU or such.

I'm not sure what the school and NCAA rules are for what you can revoke if a scholarship player quits. Not sure if you can kick them out of the dorm, bar them from the lavish banquet hall, etc. But if I was a coach, I'd do everything I could. If you quit the team, why should you eat free food, work out in the players fitness room, and so on.

But He-Man's such a wimp, a player could drop a deuce on his desk, and he'd congratulate them on a healthy digestive system.

The one good thing about this is Whittier got a statue. Honestly he should have had one years ago. He was our Jackie Robinson. All the other crap forget about it.

A little over 16 years ago I stood at the turning point. I was in trouble with the law for the first time in my life and my wife of 30 years was ready to divorce me. A decision to change led me to a program that I live one day at time and I am happy, joyous and free. That wife who was ready to be done with me will be celebrating 46 years of marriage with me later this month.
The program required me to take a fearless and thorough look at the man in the mirror.
