I mentioned that I would be surprised if we have many, if any, bowl games outside of the semis and final.........

Absolutely absurd the fear mongering that continues.

Sad to see, I always liked the Sun Bowl.

A lot of bowl games are barely profitable anyway, and with the Wuhan panic, and capacity limits, there will be far fewer fans that want to attend. I'd also expect a lot of the smaller ones to cancel - now there are far too many anyway so some thinning out isn't bad, but for older bowls like the Sun it's too bad.

So, at a minimum, this is PinStripe and Sun Bowl gone...I suspect we lose at least a dozen more, some of which are never going to return.

Hopefully Texas Bowl is one so I don't have to watch this team play anymore in 2020.

Would be comical if Texas slumped down to the Texas bowl on Loop 610 South, only to have the whole bowl canceled from lack of interest.

Cancellation would not be 'lack of interest' but rather because Sly and Dora decide they need fifteen more minutes on the stage...only later will it be noted that ticket sales were slow enough that fans could have been permitted and still have 'social distancing' edicts adhered to...

wouldn't this be better for college football if everyone doesn't get a trophy/bowl game?

Yes and no...there is no question that the television money helps some of the small schools in the Whothehellisthissponsor Bowl. For some of the smaller schools, it does also afford a slight opportunity to see some players shine in their one chance a season at a national viewing audience, which CAN help with the next level.

And...let us not forget that more games IS better for the bettor ;) Bowl season is a far better option for people like me than having to deal with the nuances of basketball and, to a lesser extent, hockey LOL!

Add Pinstripe to list that will no doubt grow......

As someone who grew up in El Paso and went to his first college football game at the Sun Bowl (Texas against Washington in 1979) this cancellation really hits home. I still have family in El Paso and Covid is hitting that community something fierce. Vaccines cannot get here fast enough.

Me too FW. Still like the city and Covid has kept me from visiting this year.

Yep! It’s played at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Don’t no why anyone would go, the weather is bad and the Temp is in the low 20’s or in the Teens when I’ve watched it.

I was at that 1994 Sun Bowl and watching Priest go all superman on that TD was incredible. Ironically several Sun Bowl's in the 80"s were snow bowls and I still remember the 1982 Texas-UNC Sun Bowl when I was in junior high that had snow during game and sadly saw Texas lose.

Add the Las Vegas Bowl to the list...it was to be played in the new stadium this year. The bowl is 'owned' by ESPN Events so I expect this will become a victim of budget cuts in future years...

Yeah I was just riffing on how many obscure bowl games there are nowadays.

Excellent. Hopefully all their bowls are cancelled, and they can all watch others playing games. It was great seeing bowl Oregon and Washington lose their weekend, further eroding the Pac's dimming hopes of anything but a joke of a season.

Pac has 1 team in the top 25 - SC at 16. What a disaster of a season for them, and they haven't even been whipped up by other conferences yet. Can they retro-actively cancel their season?
