Part of the reason we rarely blow anyone out is that our offense and defense never can put it together in the same game. We'll win 20-17 one week and 45-41 the next.
And just like that, state scores and what should have been a 38-10 lead turns into 31-17. Team cannot handle any adversity. Herman needs to go.
Good point. Every draft eligible player should quit the team once they determine that they aren’t going to a major bowl. That very well could be after the 3rd or 4th game ....all Penn St should walk week 3.. It’s a “business decision “ Call it the Cosmi/Sterns rule.
They look better because of the competition. There should never be any doubt about the outcome of this game. Never has a 21 point lead felt so shaky.
Baylor, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State all have worse run defenses than Kansas State. Our OL looks better now than it did in any of those three games. I wish I knew enough to tell who specifically is stepping up the most on the line - all I can tell is there are bigger holes that open quicker and more often than there have been all year. I've seen our new center make a couple of nice ones but beyond that I haven't noticed which specific players have been doing it most consistently. Playcalling has improved too - we've mixed it up more, been less predictable, and thrown more medium routes and in routes instead of only deep, behind the LOS, and sideline. But also, better blocking makes the playcalling look better. Even that one sack we took was mostly on Sam; who had an open guy in the flat, stared at him without looking upfield, and then ran out of time to do anything.
