Ebo is a rebounding machine. Agree having her allows Charli to be more comfortable and able to use her versatility as you mentioned.
Having a strong rebounder is going to allow for more fast break opportunities.

Question about Ebo. As she (and we) wait for transfer approval, is she allowed to attend and participate in practices?

Yes she can do everything that everyone else does but I am sure her reps have been limited due to her not being eligible. Now that everyone has a good feeling that all waivers will be granted I am sure she has been getting many reps just to get her back in the groove of things but if they do give waivers on Wednesday then I am sure we will see a significant amount of minutes from Ebo.

She is practicing very HARD with team...the only thing she can’t do is travel with the team until she is cleared....hopefully, that will not be an issue by the time they (hopefully) travel to K-State....

I really hope I am wrong, but I don’t think there will be much of season if there is even one at all. Give this post lots of thumbs down so it won’t come true.

Nyah Green (Allen, TX) from Louisville is in the transfer portal. Other finalists for her out of high school were Baylor, Tennessee, LSU, and South Carolina. I'll be surprised if she doesn't end up at Baylor as they seem to have the most open roster spots now and for next season.

Wonder if our having a new staff would make her interested in us?

We have no room lol. We are already over the scholarship limit by 1 player so unless some transfers happen I don't see us adding anyone. Now after the season I expect at least 2-3 transfers so we will probably add about 2 players after the season. As far as Green goes, I think she is a Baylor lock only because they have the space for her now and they were her second choice.

We're definitely full, but like you I expect some attrition after this season too. I didn't see any of our staff following her on Twitter, nor does she seem to be following them. I did notice Jalie Mitchell and Krista Gerlich following her though.

Unfortunately there will be more players like Routt. Great people and players but I do expect some transfers from 2-3 players on the roster. Not going to name any names but the roster we have next season will be very very good and I expect Vic to want to add 2 or more experienced players to the team. Especially if this one time transfer rule gets voted, it won't be hard at all to find great players who fit his system.

As it pertains to mid-season transfers, a school has to have an open scholarship for the Spring semester; that eliminates all those schools who currently have a 15-scholarship roster. If we really wanted Green, and she wanted to come, I'm guessing the staff would find a way to make the proper calls for the 2021 Fall roster.

On the Baylor message board, someone stated that "Texas insiders" believe she is coming to Austin; not sure who those insiders are.

As far as no one having to count this season as one year of eligibility exhausted, not sure how that affects the current 15-scholarship limit for 2021-22. In volleyball, I don't think the 12-scholarship limit is going to be enforced next season, but not positive; it just depends on individual schools being willing to fund the additional scholarships.

Yep, the transfer waiver helps us but it also helps the competition. She, along with the other transfer from Penn st. will help them a lot.

Kamaria McDaniel tore her ACL recently; she won't be able to play this season regardless.

Now we have options.... I wonder will it be
    1. Allen-Taylor
    2.Celeste Taylor
    3. Warren
    4. Gaston
    5. Collier
    Or
    1. Lambert
    2.Allen-Taylor
    3.Celeste Taylor
    4. Collier
    5. Ebo
    Or
    1.Allen Taylor
    2.Celeste
    3.Warren
    4. Collier
    5. Ebo
He now has options and 1 player adds depth to this team in different ways

I like any combination that has Lambert at the point. I feel like her experience and skills help us execute better in our half court offense, particularly against a zone. She has good court vision and her passes are crisp, sharp, and timely. Ball reversal is much better and more effective with her in the lineup.

I'm a fan of Chevalier too, and I expect her to keep getting better and better with experience. Unfortunately she's recovering from the broken nose and JoAnne, while able to play the point when needed, is not a "true" PG like Lambert and Chevalier. I like her playing the off guard more, where she's most effective with her ability to both attack and spot up.

I still think minutes will be limited for Lambert and Gaston (on Friday) so as not to have them aggravate any injuries the may be nursing; probably the same for Chevalier.

But, I would think Vic starts Lauren Ebo with Collier on Friday so he can see how she does as a starter for the first time at Texas, and how she holds up with her endurance. Celeste and Warren will most likely start, as well. And, at the point probably Joanne Allen-Taylor.

Against, KSU, that could change based on how everyone performs against Drake.

I would think it's going to be the same lineup as it's always been for a couple of games then as time goes by I would think it's going to be
    1. Allen-Taylor
    2. Taylor
    3. Warren
    4. Collier
    5. Ebo
I only say that because Ortiz has been playing well lately and her 3 point shooting is much needed. Now what I am really excited about is that Collier can finally get off the block and space the floor now that Ebo is eligible. Collier & her 3 point shooting will really help us against teams that run a zone defense. Ebo does relieve a great amount of pressure off the entire team. My only question would be....is she in the shape needed to run that pressure full court defense that we do??

Ebo will be rusty no doubt. Would image some limited minutes for the first handful of games.

Why wouldn’t she be? She’s been running full bore at practice, and you have NO CLUE how very strenuous those practices have been...they RUN a LOT!!!!

Lol yes I know they run a lot but it's different when your in an actual game. She runs and does everything but she has not been getting as many reps as players who were eligible before. So I personally wouldn't just throw her out there in the starting lineup on Friday but I would probably do so after Friday's game. If I see her in the starting lineup on Friday then you will hear no complaints from me lol. I trust Vic and his staff so if she starts friday then I know she is game ready and he trusts her.

Sidenote: Drake has nobody even remotely close to the size of Collier or Ebo so Texas should have a field day in the paint.

We know so little about Ebo. Yes, we know her Freshman and Sophomore stats, which would not suggest the second coming of Imani Boyette or even Jatarie White.

Let's allow her to get some game conditioning before we designate a starting lineup. But it's all good....we need Lauren.
