I completely agree. The Left tolerated and encouraged violence, and the media cheered it on. You're also right that by doing so, they encourage violence on the Right. That is all true. My point is that I don't think this is the best time to highlight that fact - not because it's in bad taste or anything like that but because I don't want to blunt the condemnation of the Capitol idiots. They deserve everything they're getting. I want to encourage condemnation of BLM and Antifa when they do their mahem.

Some truth to this:

 

Capitol and DC police are authorized to carry either Glock 17s or 19s with the corresponding magazine size.

They should have used every single bullet in those magazines to put down the terrorists.

Every single person who crawled thru a broken window or a capitol doorway should have been shot.

So now DC is putting up an "unscalable" 7 foot perimeter wall. Of course there's nobody posted there to guard that "wall" and make sure there's no breach.

And I have a newsflash -- there's no such thing as "unscalable"

The only thing preventing another mob attack is armed police/military with shoot to kill authorization for anybody who breaks the perimeter.

I'm also sick and tired of seeing our embassies get overrun with terrorists and our soldiers are clearly under orders to vacate the premises without bothering to defend it.

Which ones and when? I agree that his dumbassery during Covid hurt him, but mindlessly playing the "science card" doesn't explain much. If he had listened to everything Anthony Fauci (who was all over the map over the course of the pandemic - not because he's incompetent but because he's human) said but still mouthed off and acted like a goofball, he still would have lost.

 

I'm from a small town. I have a lot of friends who are Trump supporters. Her relationship with Willie Brown came up dozens of times in my newsfeed with links from conservative sources. As far as subjecting myself to Fox News and it's more ardent little brothers... I don't do much of that because I find it irritating... the ratio of news delivery to partisan BS demands a lot of time to learn anything useful... honestly that's true of most broadcast media. Newspapers are better for your mind anad your blood pressure.

You know there are a lot of good people who believe in Trump for a lot of sincere reasons. Don't confuse my contempt for the misinformation he spews with contempt for folks who believe it.

 

That is a good prescription for the "protesters" in Portland, Seattle, Kenosha, Milwaukee, and countless other BLM sites too. What's good for the goose...

 

By the way information is coming in on the folks who have died and others who have been Identified through images of the Capitol takeover. While I was distressed by the takeover... my heart hurts for those who died. The California woman shot while trying to crawl through a broken window to the chamber .a beautiful, likeable person, an Air Force Veteran. She was a Trumper caught up in the moment. People can cede their conscience to a group... but a group has no conscience.

 

Liberals sure do suddenly endorse deadly force by police when property is being threatened. Interesting.

The analysis here is simple.
These people you call your "friends" are white (an assumption I admit but when we live long enough, we learn how liberals actually roll)
They disagree with you on politics, and probably some social issues too
Since they are white and disagree with you, you think you are justified concluding that they are racists and/or fascists. They must be fascists, right?! They dont agree with you.

This is not new. We literally see it every day
You are, of course, wrong in this, on several levels, but you have your mind made up and so that is the end of it. But from my perspective, you secretly hating everyone around you says much more about you than any of them.

 

The woman was shot climbing into the chamber where elected leaders were sheltering in place. There was reason to fear for their lives.

 

Really? That is never a justification when police shoot a black criminal. Frankly, we may be better off had some of this "politicians" been done away with. They threaten more lives than anyone with their beliefs and policies and laws they enact.
