Alright... let's see how we respond to that dog-walking WVU gave us.

We can't catch a break. Something has to change only for the long term health of her

Horns giving away sooooo many easy buckets/drives. Vic seemed heated.

I don't think we are playing bad it's just the little things that need to be fixed like helping the helper and not allow back door cuts. But I do think it's safe to say that Warren is the driving force that really gets this team going. We just don't play the same without her.

Absolutely loving the way Celeste is playing. This zone is very soft and lots of shots available and she is taking full advantage of that

Our buckets are a lot harder than theirs. They are staying close because they’re making better offensive plays. Easy too.

Which team cools off first? Both shooting pretty well at high percentages. That team loses tonight. I wish I was seeing us break down their defense a little better.

Like the low turnover number. No trips to the line for Texas.

1st half observations....Celeste is back! Collier and Ebo together on the court are causing major issues for Kansas. Too many easy baskets for Kansas in the paint. Texas needs a third scorer to step up in the second half.

How many drive layups in a row did Kansas just make? What the heck? Our offense is pedestrian compared to theirs. Don’t get me wrong, we are making shots. But their shots are sooooo much easier. Where is our defense?

We're not defending them well. They are, like pretty much every other Big XII team, very well-coached and their execution of the game plan has been really good.

For some reason, I thought going in they were going to be a worthy opponent. I haven't kept up with them, so I had nothing to base that on -- it was just a gut feeling. Brandon's a really good coach.

So much to like about that win: Collier, Taylor, and Ebo. Doing some good things with turnovers (still can always be better).

But I just don’t think this game should’ve been this hard (no disrespect to Kansas).

Good win by Texas. Kansas is going to end up being a better team than people give them credit for. Please start Collier and Ebo together! The play where Charlie catches it on the baseline about 8 feet away from the goal is money with Ebo on the backside.

Probably a little closer than we would have liked. Things to fix. Good to see Celeste have a big game. Hopefully it will carry over. Still only 11 games in, have not had a full roster for any of the games and we're 9-2 and this was a conf win. Still feel we'll go deep into the tournament.

Taylor (tonight) aside, I’d take some of those Kansas guards. That type of player opening it up for Collier would be money.

Kansas’ drives leading to EASY (and pretty) buckets were fun to watch.

If Texas can just get Warren healthy then this team could really turn the corner. At this point she needs to have no physical contact in practice until it's game time.

Just like at WVU, our defense in letting them get to the basket so easily was an embarrassment. Winning formula for playing us: Use a zone, and on offense drive to the basket. Kansas looked like a good team. Are they that good, or are we that mediocre? I'm not sure. At least we won.

Vic said in his post-game press conference that "IF" they get Warren back then they will be a different team. Which means there is a possibility that she sits out for the rest of the season. It's to be determined on that decision.

Edit: I'm confused at this point because Collier said in her post game interview that the team is expecting Warren back tomorrow or sometime this week. It was from her previous injury that caused her to sit out. So I guess we will see because it's different stories.

Vic said Warren “was back” before the West Virginia game and then she wasn’t because she didn’t practice the day before. Then they tweeted out that both Warren and Ebo were available for this game and then Warren wasn’t. I can’t figure it out.

    • Celeste!
    • The defense didn't seem that tight or frenetic, especially on the inbounds. I know we had 2 cases where we stole the inbound, but it wasn't the typically case where we make it hard for them to decide how to toss it in
    • Gonna say it, although it's going to make some readers lose their minds, Charli has a weakness with holding onto the ball when rebounding in traffic. If the ball hits her hands, she usually has it swiped outright or slapped out of them. I've shaken hands with her after the post-game club Q&A sessions after games in KA's years. She has extremely long fingers, but they're not muscular. I don't see many battles where she wins out when fighting for a rebound
    • Obviously, we miss Audrey in the defense. Since her freshmen year, with her willingness to take charges and the concussions, I've worried about the day the doctors will advise that she hang it up
    • Watching Ebo take the "charge" was interesting. Obviously Vic had a talkin' to with the team at halftime
    • Amazed to hear the commentators say this was Charli's highest scoring Big 12 game. In 3 years?
    • The team has really trended down with their passing the last 2 games. Some of those "what are you doing!" passes which resulted in turnovers? Cover your eyes
    • In WVU game, Gaston couldn't hold onto the ball, any ball. In this game, ball handling improved, but shooting was atrocious. Baby steps I suppose
    • Wow, really negative opinions here. But, it's a team that is short of players and is still undergoing a rebuild. The easy pre-season games were misleading to be sure. Just waiting for 2 superior PG to show up next year I suppose

I've been saying that but got criticized for criticizing our players. Along with missing too many easy bunnies. I don't know why pointing out things a player needs to improve on is criticizing a player. If a coach isn't doing that they're not a very good coach. Imani had the same issue and told her that. She wasn't defensive and told me she was working on it.

If Charlie wants to be a top 5 draft choice those are things she needs to improve on. Kalani Brown and Tiera McCowen did not have those issues.

I'm worried about Audrey too. She needs to wait til she's fully recovered regardless of how much she's needed. I've had a couple of concussions and had dizziness for months.

My thinking is that UT was worried about getting in foul trouble after the WVU game. It was nice that UT buckled down (somewhat) after the half.

Warren needs as little contact as possible from here on out. Her health is the main priority...post-concussional syndrome is no joke...and college basketball career is second. Everyone needs to be smart here...no more serving her body up for a cascade of charges.

About 3 minutes into the 4th quarter our defense just wore Kansas out. They started making bad decisions and you could see their fatigue! Vic has this team at a different level compared to years past. Plus his substitution rotation shows no favoritism. Really enjoy watching this style of play!
