Injured knee first season here in camp and redshirted.
Had a shoulder injury after that.
I think he had around 5 tackles in 3 games last season.

I like your heart, NR...but it is, apparently, not "safe to say" that in regards to Sam no matter how much we all respect and like him.
Not everyone -here or outside of hornfans- agrees.

Roster turnover is inevitable but that is not a bad thing ... frees up a spot that Sark can fill with one of his guys

Don’t get Green unless it’s an EoT issue or he didn’t mesh with the incoming staff. Seems odd though.

If the kid wants out, so be it. It is his choice. If he doesn't "mesh" with new coaches, enough said.

If, HOWEVER, he has someone in his ear telling him what to do, WE need to put an end to that and keep that person away from the athletes and the program.

Is there a way to identify the azzhole?

Doubtful, but first someone that really knows or Green needs to say that he had "an advisor" to help him with the decision. My cynical mind looks at two people first, but without any proof, I would not want to speculate.

Why would the kid pick now to announce, when

    1) he doesn't know who his position coach will be
    2) he doesn't know who the DC will be
    3) he doesn't know how he fits in the scheme

If, however, he had his transfer set up and knows where he's going, there is a possibility that his classes start Monday. (If he is required to go to class at his new home.)

    Yeah,
    I don't get this one.
Who knows? But, here's a guy who was a consistently utilized and seemingly appreciated contributor.
And I agree with Sabre...There hasn't been enough info or time to get any details pertaining to actual football related opportunity or usage you would think.
With the excitement surrounding the incoming regime??
And the tweet by Locke does make it sound football related...
I'll say this....that deep, much heralded and talented secondary of ours just keeps getting thinner.

Yeah I concur this strikes me odd. Sorry to see him make this decision and curiosity runs amuck but in effect really not my business I reckon. Anyway, wish him well whatever.

If it was the EoT maybe he finally realized the university itself couldn't be separated from its history just because of a song so he decided to leave it all behind. Or not.

I'm glad to see some guys moving on. I think Coach Sarkisian is moving at high speed toward his goal of a team "being a unit, and not a bunch of individuals". If you don't want to be at UT for ANY reason, including (the horror) of singing with your supporters. Move along, good luck to you in your future endeavours, but make room for a new body with a football focus and a better attitude.

Speaking of supporters, UT should sell team scarves like they do for European clubs. That would be cool.

Many is the time I sat in DKR on a September afternoon and wished I had a nice warm scarf to wrap around my neck.

If these kids are not happy with Texas (whatever the reason) they should leave now. Lets get the issues off the field and concentrate on football.

    I don't know.
If it appears I have hit a ceiling at my place of work because it becomes obvious I will not be promoted until somebody quits or dies then maybe I should move on to another opportunity.
Perhaps he is just being realistic in his abilities.
