Anything that helps put 2020 in the rear view is a good thing. Last year was just one mess after another.

Hopefully the new staff can get this team back to its primary purpose. If these team members want to be a football player, then focus on football and your class work. If they prefer to be a social activist, there are plenty of student activist organizations to join. Class work will be optional and the scholarship opportunities limited. Their choice which way they go.

So, even without the portaled guys for OL, we still have the following (potentially):

    SR
    Kerstetter (maybe?)
    Okafor
    Imade
    JR
    Angilau
    Jones
    Ghirmai
    SO
    Johnson
    Hookfin
    Garth
    Parr
    Majors
    Karic
    FR
    Conner
    Merril
Potentially one more late signing guy

We have bodies. In fact, we have enough bodies for 3-deep at some positions. I don't think it's a matter of depth... it's a matter of coaching and who's being utilized properly.

I guess my perception based on how they have been developed and used is there are bodies but the desired level you want for your starters and immediate backup to compete at a high level hasn't been there for whatever reason. My perception is we have for the most part had a starting line that should be your 2nd string level max if you had the room filled out and developed properly. Seems the starters are barely ready enough (serviceable level) and anyone behind them isn't ready.
I agree with your assertion and suspect it is a combo of recruiting and development but mostly development. As I've noted with other guys and positions, I expect we will see some guys we thought were dead weight all of a sudden blossom under this new regime and I hope you are right and this is true for our o line. We do have bodies

I am not satisfied with the CB room after losing a few to draft and portal...but it is what it is. Still not poorest of poor....just not great and not what it could be for next year.
That is only 5 non-freshman bodies for 3+ spots per down and 3 of those with next to no experience. What had looked like a boon has gone bust and that is not good in the Big12

Makes admitting Ibraheem important, I think he was our 2d highest rated recruit in the entire class
