The reason we're not playing A&M is they don't want to. And not because they're scared. Deal with it.

I'm much more concerned with figuring out how to beat TCU and Iowa State and OU these days than I am about playing the Ags.

I don't think either party is scared to play the other but obviously there are active efforts to keep Texas and Aggie from playing. From what I see it is not currently decision makers in Austin. The decision not to play in post season (that would have made sense and money, the Alamao and Houston Bowls would have worked several times) seems to be made by the SEC. I just don't understand why the SEC (with or without Aggie influence) benefits from an a$$ whipping of Georgia or Missouri more than the potential that AnM receives the same fate. God knows Texas v ANM at Jerry World would sell out and fill hotels and restaurants more than Aggie v LSU, Arky, Mo., Vanderbilt, Kentucky, uSC or even Baylor.

SEC will sacrifice their pawns like Aggy to protect the kings and queens like Bama, Georgia, LSU, etc. They thought GA-TX in sugar bowl was a good match for them (saves Aggy from loss but allows GA to beat B12), but no it didn’t turn out that way. Regardless, Aggy is useless pawn to SEC and they don’t know it.

Even the SEC teams would rather not play the cult, but they have to. Not because you are some threat to their dominance, but because you are just as annoying to them as you are us thinking you are a sustained powerhouse which you are not. Just check out their message boards.

My #166 reply stands. No coach or AD will ever admit not wanting to play someone (except evidently aggy not wanting to play Texas you assert).

What one says in public and what one actually wants to or chooses to do can be quite different.

I don’t believe that when asked the question, Sark would have answered “no,” regardless of his thoughts on the question.

Good lord, this is a special kind of dumb. The SEC didn't choose UGA to be in the 2019 Sugar Bowl. The SEC is obligated to send the SEC champion to the Sugar Bowl unless that team gets into the playoff field or the Sugar Bowl is hosting a playoff game. In that case, the SEC is obligated to send the next highest ranked team to the Sugar Bowl. The SEC doesn't get to choose.

In 2018, Bama beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game. UGA ended up being ranked 5th. Out of the playoffs, but higher than Florida at #10. Bama went to the Playoff and UGA was obligated to play in the Sugar Bowl. The SEC doesn't choose the Sugar Bowl matchup, the CFP ranking does.

I didn’t say SEC chose GA for the Sugar bowl. I used it as an example of what SEC wants when they do (or do not) have the power to schedule matchups. In short, have Texas play a tougher SEC team and save Aggy from a loss. Having Texas playing Aggy or Aggy playing a tough team while Texas playing a weaker SEC team is not their preference.

    Mr Irrelevant,
I have observed a SEC loss in any bowl game is attributed to said SEC school ‘not wanting to be there”.
TAMU looked lackluster in their bowl game and contrary to popular belief- I don’t dislike TAMU. Said this for years here as my nephew played for the Ags- but you sound reasonable and no way TAMU was 5th in the country.
OU, Cincy, BYU, and all the other 4 playoff teams were much better overall

I don't think Notre Dame was "much better overall". I was ok with A&M not being in the CFP, but Notre Dame had just proved itself unworthy the previous week. If I were to have picked the 4 teams it would have been 1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Cincinnati 4. tOSU

They’re now scheduling multiple FCS schools per year, not just one. That’s their formula going forward. They ain’t gonna play us. They’ll feast on FCS schools and on the plethora of weak SEC teams.....Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss State,Tennessee, Arky, Mizzo, Tennessee types, and hope for the best against Bama, LSU, and Auburn.

Actually I think Aggie does know there status in the SEC but accept it as an upgrade from Big 12 pawn.

What year does A&M have "multiple FCS schools" on the schedule?

And really, what's the point of a cupcake measuring contest? Is the difference between Rice and SFA that significant? But if that's your flex, have at it.

Conference games are always tough no matter what conference you're in and therefore it's all relative. The sec and acc have it set up to their advantage where they play 8 conference games. Which means they usually have 3 cupcake games and 1 tough non-conference. That's 3 automatic wins that pad the final win total. Obviously this has helped those 2 conferences (well Alabama and Clemson) dominate the championship game appearances. The other conferences need to either follow this formula or the ncaa should require they all play the same amount of conference games.

Jimbo is recruiting well. If the ags keep this up, all they need is that one special player (Joe Burrow-like) with a cast of 5 and 4 star players and they could get over the hump. LSU played second fiddle to Alabama but kept solid recruiting classes and then......

I don’t blame you for having that point of view. I never said you guys weren’t allowed to load up on softies. Twitter had your team’s FCS school schedule floating around. I didn’t save or remember exactly when y’all start going from one to two but it’s only a year or two out, if I remember correctly. But what difference does it make.....y’all are cool with it so.

We're a mid-level SEC team right now. The upgrade is in revenue, exposure, & competition.
So what's the difference between scheduling Rice and ULM? Enlighten me.

Okay- Rice ULM, is obviously a he said she said. I disagree they are not different, but I’ll not disagree that this could be a disagreement we are both right and equally wrong.
I traveled to Monroe. Uhh basing that I’d never heard of ULM until I went there probably 10 years ago.
Funny how you didn’t ask me to enlighten you regarding Lamar, PV or the multiple ridiculous SEC non conference games the toughest conference in the NCAA schedules to ensure 3 guaranteed wins.
I really don’t mean this as critical as it sounds, but when you watch on PPV. Aggie break off a long run against the likes of PV, how in the world do you guys do that towel waving and not feel guilty?
Truly if UT was bashing a team, and bud cupcake is several levels above PV, I would have a hard time giving my buds a high five.
    Just seems sleezy.

I just find it interesting that you included ULM as an example of A&M's ridiculous scheduling when UT hosts ULM in 2022.

I find it interesting that you made your way back to orangefans to fight with Longhorns about strength of schedule after aggy finished the season beating 3 teams with a winning record (Auburn was 6-5) and being ranked in the top 10 with an inflated win count against inferior SEC competition. Just go back to texags and stroke a fellow ag or squeeze your balls or something.
