I heard an extremely wise and educated lady from DC yesterday talking about this^^^^ and some of the backlash that is growing amongst liberal-minded women who have fought for years in the "genders war" for their place and now feel totally jilted by the lbgtqptz movement and can't really understand the point of what they are fighting for as women anymore.
... Funny "they" never listen when you try and warn where something will lead to

Definitely not a load of crap....though it may prove to be inaccurate in this particular case.
There are many valid and verifiable reasons for my sentiment whether it will apply here or not.
There was a bit of hyperbole in my wording and "tone", but the truth remains:
There are many things being forced in our society that the pressures to do them makes undoing them an unthinkable sin-and a risk not worth the likely punishment you will receive.

    You're such a free spirit, Moon...I'm surprised you're cool with this^^^^

Just speculating. but might be the less qualified person would require less $$$ that the more qualified one. Or perhaps the less qualified person knew more of the right people. Something to consider.

I can't be cool with something that I don't believe is happening on any grand scale.

Didn't really have time to look into this yesterday when I made my post but I suspected it and did more research today.

King is a former player. I've mentioned this in posts past but I went to a high school with a gal who played powder puff games in high school and that just wasn't enough sauce for her. She got involved with the women's football team in Austin, The Austin Outlaws, and after she quit playing she became a coach for them. My guess is she's still doing it. She would have at least 20 years experience in football as both a coach and a player at this point and I'm damn sure she knows the game better than I do. Way better.

Take a look at Jennifer King's Wiki and you'll see a resume / exposure to the sport that basically mimics what you'd see from a male football player a couple of years removed from the game looking to transition into coaching. Actually her resume is even more robust in a lot of ways. She played two offensive and two defensive positions in a 13 year career, has experience coaching at the college level, and even had the time to be an intern with the Carolina Panthers while still being an active player in the women's league.

She's involved in running backs but never played the position. That's not uncommon, didn't Major coach running backs at one point? I'm just as tired of the woke movement and pressure / PC hires as the rest of y'all but let's give Jennifer King some encouragement here. All indicators are that she knows her **** and loves the game. Her employers seem to think the same. Wishing her a lot of luck.... I think her journey is very cool. :hookem:

Thanks Sapo- I stand corrected. I still feel this was a woke move, but this helps explain a bit, not that it matters to anyone how I feel.
Too bad a more qualified male was discriminated against, no one will ever convince me that a semi pro girl DB was the BEST candidate over a college level male RB looking for a shot to coach.
I’m sorry, but common sense needs to come into play here.

Now all Washington needs to do is hire Colin Kaepernick and they’ll have The Swamp by the balls. I can’t believe with this new attitude they waited so long to ditch that offensive nickname.

I agree. All the ones I can think of are already taken, may not be in use, but the owner(s) would probably want beaucoup bucks to sell. The "Buzzards" might work, or "Mules."

This crap makes me sick. If "equity" is the goal then there should be 4 Black head coaches in the NFL. That 70% of players are Black is massive over representation of the 13% of the population that is Black. The bitching that there's not more Black head coaches and then pointing out that 31 of 32 owners are White is insidious.

The talk about trying to incentivise the hiring of Black coaches is offensive. I hate the world we live in right now.

    Blackskins?
    Yellowskins?
    Purpleskins?
    Whiteskins?
    Redskins?...??....Yes....perfect....Redskins.
A name which highly esteems...and bestows recognition, remembrance, and glorifies the American Indians who lived amongst us in former days...lest they be forgotten.
Nah....too exclusive. How 'bout Washington Rainbowskins?
That's it. We'll go with Rainbowskins.
We can keep our "R" hats...and, even though it isn't a real thing and has no real meaning, it is sure to appease many.
Our logo will be a multicolored Unicorn with a big "W" branded on it's butt...
We will call our beloved mascot
    The Whatchamacallit.
