I don't care who A&M schedules. However, Kent State and Prairie View are a joke. If my season ticket package included those two dogs, I'd feel like the athletic department was ripping me off.
The SEC needs to rein back the FCS games. It all started because of moving the Alabama-Auburn game like 15 years ago. To fill the November hole, both squads added teams like Citadel and Alabama State. Then, every SEC team got on board with it. They need to ditch the early-season conference games, and throw in some P5 nonconference ones instead.
This^^^^^ Is why sec and aggy get a hard time. Every p5 has cupcakes....but they go way overboard with their cupcakes and out of their way to help the schools with scheduling it seems...as well as bypass almost all of their other division. Football is more fun when good teams play more good teams, and I am glad we have some good OOCs coming up after this year. I wish every conference and program would schedule more and let it rip.
Well, with a home slate boasting CFB royalty like Rice, Tech, and Kansas I'm sure the season ticket holders at UT aren't feeling ripped off in the least. Hell, they could probably get 500% over face value for that hot Kansas ticket. I mean dude... Kansas! Gale Sayers, John Riggins, Brantley Foster... Kansas IS college football!
Never understood why Aggy never played a home and home with Prairie View. It would shorten their drive by 50 minutes for folks coming out of Houston.
This is Aggy we’re talking about. As you can see, they love playing FCS schools........with no shame.
Interesting that aggy is making fun of us playing Tech. Let's face it, their inability to beat Texas Tech was one of the main reasons aggy ran away screaming from the Big XII. Alums could handle losing 75% of the time to Texas and OU, but that losing Big XII record vs. Tech could not be tolerated. - Mike
mc, You realize that was McKinney's proctoscope. When Governor Goodhair wanted to run for President, my biggest fear was that Ricky would appoint McKinney Secretary of State or press secretary or some such position, but Tech got it tight.
I agree with you Kansas sucks. But we have no choice in playing Tech and Kansas. Just like the ags have no choice but to play Vanderbilt or Mississippi State. Rice is a cupcake on the one hand. But they are D-1, and they actually have some athletes on the squad who are recruited by schools like Texas and A&M. Prairie View? Come on, man. That's a joke and you know it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm thinking you were more fired up about Clemson coming to town (even though it was a loss) than you will be when Prairie View comes a calling. I know I prefer the games we schedule vs LSU, OSU, Bama, USC a helluva lot more than I like the matchup with Rice.
So if PVAMU were to play Rice, it stands to reason that Rice would destroy them because Rice is D1. But Rice played PVAMU in 2018. Rice won by 3 points at home. THREE POINTS!!! Rice and PVAMU are both jokes and I know it. You don't seem to know it. For some reason you seem to think teams like UTEP, Rice, and Kansas are vastly superior to their D2 counterparts when in fact, they aren't We don't bag on y'all for playing Rice. Every team pays for wins where they can. Chest thumping about not playing an FCS team when you play an FBS team that can only squeak by said FCS team is very on-brand for y'all though. Good work!
I still can't believe you are arguing schedule strength. How did that 17-12 thumping of 0-9 Vanderbilt taste? Don't come here bagging on the Big XII schedule and how bad the Bix XII is when you have absolutely ZERO room to talk smack. We already know most of the Bix XII sucks, but at least we are scheduling teams like Bama (Yeah, the one good school in the SEC right now), Ohio State, Michigan, etc The funny part is your argument is your FCS schools are just as tough as our FBS schools. Why can't you see how absolutely ridiculous that is?
I'm not saying they are vastly superior. I'm not saying they aren't automatic wins. I wish we played better teams every week, where every game was a legitimate contest. But Prairie View A&M and Kent State don't even get their scores mentioned on the college scoreboard sites. You and I could go round and round forever. You obviously come here because you hate the Longhorns. That's fine. We aren't perfect. I know that. I think the Ags have a good program. You are better than scheduling teams like Prairie View A&M and Kent State. Geez, put a New Mexico State on your schedule. Or Rutgers. Guaranteed victories. But at least most people know they have a team.
Schedule smack? How the f**k does saying both Rice AND Prairie View are garbage equal schedule smack. Last I checked it was every other poster on this thread talking smack about A&M playing 1 FCS team a season. Even though the bottom dwellers of the FBS are little different than FCS teams. It's also fitting that you would compare your marquee teams, like Michigan, tOSU, etc. to A&M's cupcakes. The fact that we have Miami, Notre Dame, etc. on upcoming schedules would be a better comparison, but why go apples to apples?
Note the folks wiping their heads with handkerchiefs. Note the guy smoking a cigar in back. Reminds me our noon football games in late August.
aggy gonna aggy. Can't get one past you. Good bull for sure. That Prairie View game second to the last game of the season should bolster SOS.
