Arkansas - looks to hire Jermeil Ashley (Tulsa DL) to coach the Hogs in the D trenches. Ashley has Texas connections, having coached at Trinity Valley JC and played at Tyler JC. Watch for attempted swine incursions into Texas for recruiting. Feral hogs running wild across Texas. Miami - Manny poaches Auburn's LB coach (Travis Williams) to teach Manny's D how to tackle. Washington - After losing Kowski to us, UW has promoted Bob Gregory to DC.
Damn. Day before signing day. HS coach: Tennessee pulls scholarship offer to 4-star TE commit a day before National Signing Day
Lots of confusion here. Can’t tell whether he decommitted, offer pulled or whether he is even eligible. Longtime Vols commitment officially parts ways with Tennessee
Manny might not realize that he has now boxed himself in. If the defense learns how to tackle and Miami still cannot field a competitive defense, then the issue is Manny's scheme.
After reading around for the last hour and watching some video it all still remains uncertain. The common themes are he would not be eligible due to grades and he has not been working out and has gained a lot of weight. Saw video of him running routes and dropping balls looking like a linebacker. The funniest line from a Vol site was, "He must have taken the money from the McDonald's bag and actually bought McDonalds." There is definitely more to it than JH just pulling the offer especially if he is ineligible and not doing the work. FWIW, the HS coach raising the stink has been at 4 schools in the last 5 years. The kid has been pretty quiet and landed at Memphis.
Now that's funny. Who knows, larger TEs sometimes make really good offensive tackles in college. They often have the footwork and the frame, they just need some of those 1/4 pounders, Big Macs, and time in the college S&C program. Could be an angle for this youngster...
I wish JH success at Tennessee. I think it’s a real opportunity for a new era without Fulmer and Haslams so involved. Somehow he has to start getting in state stars to come to Knoxville.
UH - Grady Brown (McNeese State DC) will coach DBs for the Cougars. images - Cougars with lots of make-up / mascara: Miami - despite some hires, including a new LB coach, Manny Diaz will function as the DC next year for the Canes in addition to being head coach. Name that __efense... South Carolina - Montario Hardesty (NFL Charlotte DBs) will coach the Gamecocks' RBs. Rumors are that he turned down Tennessee (his alma mater), and instead opted with South Carolina. South Carolina has reportedly hired a former SEC star as its running backs coach
Karl Scott (DB coach, Alabama) expected to leave for the NFL (as Minn DB coach, w/ Kris Boyd). Scott was the primary recruiter for the Brocks. This means that, if he goes, then the Brothers Brock will have lost both theirs primary and secondary recruiters (Flood). Along with their OC. They made their bed and now they get to lay in it. With Bill O’Brien.
Maybe they will pull a McCoy. They are getting exactly what they were trying to avoid. It has been said a million times, chose the school and not the coach for a reason.
FIFY. I'm sure the Brockermeyer family will woefully traveling to next year's National Championship Game while Mrs Brock reminds her husband, "We could be on the Riverwalk right now, But NOOOO, you had to let them sign with Saban".
Unfortunately, Satan did land Doug Marrone as the new OL coach (sigh) But they will still be stuck with BOB as OC
Hey... after the mess he left at New Mexico, I said that a college shouldn't hire Mike Locksley, even as part of a landscaping crew. Today he is a head football coach in the Big 10. Saban has made chicken salad out of worse than a guy who was pretty successful at Penn State given the circumstances.
I suspect the "boys" will torture the Horns when the Horns play that home-and-away series with Bama in 2022. Meanwhile a lil' eye candy fer ya!
ISU - Campbell signs $$$$ extension through 2028 Indiana - Deland McCullogh (NFL KC Chiefs RBs) is likely heading to Indiana to coach RBs and be assistant HC.
Marrone, however, is an excellent OL coach (just not a great head coach) He is going to make BOB look good
Alabama will average 40+ plus next season and make the CFP. And the critics will be left holding their dicks in their hand.
I am beginning to suspect Jay Valai's life goal is to remove Tate Martell from the record books His recent timeline: Jan. 2: Looking for work after Tom Herman fired at Texas Jan. 20: Hired as UH's cornerbacks coach Feb. 1: Leaves UH to be Eagles cornerbacks coach Feb. 12: Leaves Eagles to be Alabama's cornerbacks coach
