Figured I'd start this thread early by saying I don't see how this game gets played. The forecast for Fort Worth doesn't get out of the 20s for the next few days and quite a bit more snow is predicted for Wednesday. The team's safety is paramount!
The only way I see it getting played is the team headed to FTW now. For as much snow that hit the DFW area, the roads are not in too terrible shape. Right now its mainly snow and not ice. With that being said the forecast turns to more snow mixed with freezing rain/ice on Tuesday night . It will be significantly worse Wednesday with much more ice on the roads. Another factor is the team will have to have COVID testing before they play.
Hoping it gets postponed, but there is not much time in season left to squeeze it in...I agree, safety is paramount...I keep thinking about OSU’S tragic BB losses...NO game is worth lives...
Weather aside, I think the argument being made for conference tourneys to be cancelled and allow sufficient time for COVID make-up games is a valid one. The current weather situation across a huge part of the country compounds that validity IMO.
Interesting that the players came back instead of heading straight to Fort Worth. I assume it would have to be covid testing.
From the looks of it, Texas will leave tomorrow and still play at TCU Wednesday. Ashley's mom goes to the games and she went straight from Waco to Fort Worth. I guess that means no postponement just yet.
The tournament should be used to make up postponements or they could find a way to incorporate the two together.
