I'm feeling uneasy about this road trip... KU has lost their last two games to ISU 82-84 and TTU 98-99. That's a lot of scoring to keep up with for a team like ours that struggles offensively and particularly on the road.

I’ll take Charli for 30 and double figure scoring from three other Horns. And if we get off to a slow start, put Ashley in. That girl is a human spark plug!!!

Don’t know how popular this opinion is but I would start her over Lambert right now. Ashley seems to get other players involved, something Lambert has yet to do. Think a 6th man role would help Lambert out at this point.

Ashley had a great 1st half performance against KSU. Vic even gave her praise in his post-game press conference. However, I don't believe she played at all during the 2nd half which puzzled me. Is her lack of playing time because Lambert is more of a scoring threat?

Lambert did knock a couple of shots down yesterday but I just enjoyed the spark Ashley seems to give the team. Don’t know why she didn’t play more.

I was surprised that Ashley didn't play more after being such a good spark for us. I'm a fan of Lambert because I feel more secure with her handling the ball. I think I might let Ashley get some reps at off guard when Jo is struggling and/or in foul trouble, with Kyra and her being interchangeable. Something tells me Ashley might be effective as a spot up shooter from downtown, but we don't get to see that much when she's running the point.

I’ve noticed for several recent games Schaefer has played Chevalier only in the second quarter. Even when she plays well doesn’t get much if any in second half. I’m not going to go back and do an analysis but it is apparent to me. Not sure I know why. Can speculate but just seems strange.

I know what I’m about to say is unpopular opinion but I think we’re going to loose Ashley this summer and maybe even Shay too.Ashley is the type of player that needs game reps to get better and Shay is somewhat cut from the same cloth. They may not be starters at another ranked school team but on a quality team I do believe they can Both make a difference. Ashley on Arizona State, Oregon State, Auburn or VTech type team should help those teams level of play go up. Shay as well at a Duke, USF, Drake, or Georgia or GTech. In no way does this mean I don’t want them I just feel like that with player we have coming in they going to be stuck behind someone

I love Ashley, but she is virtually no scoring threat. We need scoring badly. Also, I may be wrong, but believe her turnover-assist ratio is not as good as Kyra's.

I would love to see her play off the ball. I think right now she gets in and tries to be too perfect and not make a mistake which we all know when you do that, you're going to mess up. If she is in the game with Lambert playing the two guard it would drastically slow things down for her and maybe then she would feel more comfortable on the offensive side. Defensively I love her intensity and the spark she brings to this team.

I agree with you. Although I would love for both of them to stay, if they want real playing time it's going to be hard with the players coming in but who knows. I feel like with Shae she might just love the University as she has been a UT fan her entire life so she may stick around regardless of basketball or playing time.

Another freshman we might lose is Precious Johnson. She brings the energy on the sideline but I just don't see her getting minutes. This is not a knock against any player! I'm just simply saying those players might thrive in another system although chevalier is a player I would want to stay

You may be be right, but Ashley wants to be a coach so I think she’ll decide based on which program can best position her for that career as opposed to where she gets the most minutes. I like her energy and hope she stays.

This is going to be a tough matchup. Kansas is very underrated in my opinion as they have been hanging tough but barely coming up short. This will come down to guard play. We have got to stay in front of our man and help side defense has to be there. Collier should and needs to have another big game as Kansas really doesn't have a true big who can hang with Collier.

I'm still concerned about KU, but I got a feeling in my gut today that we're going to play really well tonight. We're definitely overdue to have a good game.

Agreed, I think we are at the point where we need to put 4 great quarters together. No slow starts or drop-off in the 2nd half. Just 40 minutes of outright fight!

Chevalier has become my new favorite player. The amount of energy she brings to this team is second to none. She has been playing with Lambert and looks much more comfortable off the ball. Just better decision making with the ball

Is it my imagination are have we started using bounce passes more frequently? Is that a Vic thing?

Not a great 4th quarter on both sides of the ball but overall it was a well played game. Chevalier needs to be in the starting lineup at this point until Allen-Taylor finds her rhythm again. She has been off these past few games so I would think it would be best if Chevalier gets the start.

Is there such a thing as a 9 point dominating win. I think that’s what I just saw. Brandon may be gone after this year.

Well, we put 3 2/3 solid quarters tonight. A road win is what it is, but still it's disappointing to end a game like that after having been so solid the entire game. Reminds me of the game at KSU. Chevalier was really good tonight and I'm happy for her. Is Shay injured or what?

I’ve been wondering about Shay also. She subbed in a number of games and then has just disappeared. Vic, at one time, said she was outstanding in practices. Could be since Warren returned and Ashley is playing so well that it is more difficult for Shay to get playing time.

I love Schaefer’s post game media sessions. A few takeaways........he said he “couldn’t take her off the court”....referring to Chevalier. I remember him saying that about his daughter after she struggled but got better her last two years. She’s coach’s daughter who I am sure talk to her ALL the time. Schaefer..and all coaches.....will stay with a point guard who doesn’t turn the ball over, makes good decisions and is a pest defensively. Good for her. He really thinks they are going to be tough come tourney time. Then the best for me is....”Praise the Lord and Hook Em”

“... a 2-3 zone hope they miss defense”
For those of you wanting to see Vic go to a zone, it isn’t going to happen often if at all. Clearly he doesn’t like it.

I did, however, think we did a great job of attacking the zone tonight. That’s something we definitely don’t see from this team often enough.

I wonder why Vic says he doesn't like to play Ashley and Kyra at the same time... Maybe because neither have an aggressive scorer's mentality?
