I think Collier could thank the current coaching stuff a bit more. They transcended her. She deserves a lot of credits too; she works hard to improve.
I was really hoping to see her one more year as a Longhorn, but I live in Dallas so I’m hopeful and happy if she becomes a Dallas Wing. But darn we’ll always wonder what might have been.
Best wishes but I really did want one more year with her and the new staff. She’s going to have an amazing overseas and WNBA career.
Quite honestly, I'm a bit skeptical of Precious. Gonna be surprised if she stays here. She doesn't strike me as the type of big that Vic likes.
Disagree, Vic was very complimentary of Precious in his last “Game Plan”....she just needs to get more buff and more minutes!!
Look for her to be an ambassador and frequent LHN/ESPN contributor (think Chiney Ogumike). So much so that she may not need to play overseas unless she wants to
Good for Charli. She's going to be a star in the WNBA. Selfishly of course I wanted her to return for another year and she'll be deeply, deeply missed. Who knows - maybe she'll lead Texas to a successfully post-season run. If others can step up and score like last night, anything is possible. And I certainly trust Coach Schaefer as coach who knows how to win in the NCAA tournament.
Compliments are good if your an athlete, but if I were an athlete I would want playing time more. She's getting no playing time on a short roster which speaks volumes, unless she has an injury that I'm unaware of. I also interpret when you say "buff" you mean get in shape, which Vic won't put up with.
Precious was going to be a project for either coaching staff. I don't know that she'll ever be a starter but she could develop into a solid contributor if she has patience and the drive.
If Charli does go #1 in the draft (or even top five) that's a good thing for recruits to see... and the staff can certainly give themselves a lot of credit for that.
WNBA mock draft: Which players have upped their stock in the NCAA tournament? Charli is still sitting pretty at the top. Good for her.
I've got to remind myself she just finished her junior year with regards to her struggles against teams with good post players. But I'm still left wanting more. She could have set so many career and seasonal records on the way to becoming a Longhorn legend had she remained.
