A top three finish in the Big XII this year should be the goal and hosting a home sub regional. Now, if they can finish top two in the Big XII and win almost all of their remaining out of conference (including aggy this week) a national seed is possible. But Texas has to get sweeps in series like this weekend at home (and next two weekends as they face the Kansas schools) to be in the chase for a national seed.
Now 1-2. Another strikeout in 4th with bases loaded (now 4 for game). However a single scores a run and runner out at home plate for the potential tying run. Inning over. Lack of an additional run in the 4th may come back to bite them.
Texas ties it bot 8th 2-2, but hurt themselves again with 2 SO’s. Sooners score in top 9th 2-3 with runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs.
2-3 bot 9th. 4 pitch walk followed by double play. Down to last out. Strikeouts killed at least 2 runs in prior innings.
Horns lose series finale 3-2. They win series but losses like today (and last Sunday) are often difference between winning a conference and not or being a National seed or not.
Scoring 2 runs ordinarily won't get the job done. Still, it's a series win. Need to crank it up next two weeks.
Sunday game reviews: No. 9 Baseball falls in series finale to Oklahoma, 3-2 - University of Texas Athletics No. 9 Texas falls to Oklahoma, 3-2, in series finale
The ou series was sloppier than the Baylor Series. Hopefully they can right the chip before Tceh and TCU.
