I really wanted AZ to pull it off...would have been perfect karma for the NCAA leaving them out of the promo video...
The video clips at the end of the broadcast showed Texas - JAT in the center after one of the victories, and Vic's dance in the locker room - pretty nice! They didn't show many teams other than the final four.
I don't understand that last shot. Down only 1, but seemed to be trying real hard to set up a step back 3, and completely missed seeing a wide open teammate.
Wide open! I think if Baptiste had cut to the rim sooner then McDonald may have seen her, but she waited until Aari was already getting into a shooting motion. Layups and free throws cost Arizona the national championship. Happy for Tara but I wanted the underdog to win.
Just looked up since I didn't remember Stanford even missing any FTs (granted I didn't watch the entire thing start to finish): Arizona 13/18 Stanford 2/2 Well that's why - they only shot 2 the whole game! It didn't seem like egregious officiating, and it's not the refs' job to even out FT numbers, but that was really surprising to see since it's not like Stanford wasn't being aggressive on offense or anything.
