Although I do not agree with the means taken to achieve it, but the fact that congress is so afraid that they have built a guarded border is an overall good thing. The government should be afraid of its citizens.

So San Diego is sending teachers into the Convention center to teach the illegal aliens while there are schools still closed with American children not being taught.

Or anyone the US has fought in the last 75 years. We haven't won a war since WWII. I should know - I was an Infantryman in one of them - Desert Storm. Seemed like a win at the time - even had parades.

But was just a tie like every other war since the big one. The most successful military operation since WWII was Panama, to basically settle a Lover's Quarrel between a Pimp (CIA), and one of their Girls (Noreiga), who ran off and stared working for another Pimp (Columbian drug lords).

Look no one know what gun grabbing laws the Democrat party will be able to ram through, especially Slow Joe, who will be told to sign papers in front of him then be given a pudding cup, like any other senile old man at a nursing home.

If they could get a law to outlaw private ownership of firearms and begin confiscation next week, at gunpoint, they would. If it ends up being less than that, it's because that's all they can ram through, not because that's all they want.

American kids need to show up in schools and just give the administrators a note from their parents advising that Johnny and Susie now identify as migrant children.

Did the Cuban government have tanks, and cannons and planes? yet it was the Gorillas that overthrew the government. Ask Venezuela how good their tanks and guns did to stop their citizens. Ask the USSR how good their tanks did to stop their citizens. Behind every tank is a citizen who has to pull the trigger.

Every government in the world is better equipped than the people and yet all over the world governments get overthrown.

Tanks are made to destroy buildings same with cannons, they are conventional weapons, if a well armed portion of the people rise up against a tyrannical government especially a portion of the population that has been trained by the government all the tanks, nukes and navy in the world will do no good. They won't fight a conventional war, they will fight a urban gorilla war and in a urban gorilla war you are now talking about 1 million men versus 80 million citizens who happen to be equally and in many cases better armed. It's a battle the government can never win.

It would take 20K men to bring this country to it's knees. There are 400 million guns in the hands of citizens. Do the math. Look what 15 men did on 911, look what Timothy McVea did in Oklahoma City.

The US government needs to remember they work for us, we don't work for them. We have rights that we won't let be infringed upon. We are not a socialist country and some of us would rather fight than see this country turned into one.

I don't want to give an inch on gun control not while we have a government who is more than willing to trample our other rights.

McVea and the 911 bunch had their Alamo moment but no San Jacinto victory to celebrate. This shouldn't be over looked. Our federal entities and / or military wiped them out. They're all dead now.

While I'd love to see our military turn on the current powers for their ineptitude and lack of respect for the constitution, I don't see it happening soon. Let's just vote the bums out and get back to normal.

Nothing normal about having a dude so old and feeble he can't walk up a flight of stairs. Gotta admit, it was mighty funny seeing Slow Joe doing the moonwalk falling back down them. You know he filled his diaper up from the excitement of all that. President Depends.

Back on topic, there are a couple of good pro-gun bills being heard this week at the Capitol - repealing the ability of the Governor to restrict gun rights during a self-declared emergency, preventing gun related boycotts from businesses doing work with the State, and keeping the Feds from hiring local law enforcement agencies to enforce Federal rules.

The below link shows how you can make comments on these bills, before they are heard on Thursday. The Texas branch of Gun Owner's of America has done a whale of a job this Session advancing gun rights. I was at the Capitol last week to testify on Constitutional Carry bills (what a day - the same committee debated the St. George of Floyd Act in the afternoon, with predicable hollering, screaming, and other toddler behavior), and it stands a good chance of passing too.

Gun rights are like teeth - ignore them and they go away. Get involved or lose your rights.

Good job Tennessee. We aim to get Texas in the same boat. Constitutional carry is on the move in Iowa (just needs the Gov's signature), and Indiana. Texas would be the biggest (and best) state to have it.

I'm not worried about having a San Jacinto moment yet. We aren't at the point of no return with our government. The point is that you don't have to have tanks and cannons to take down a country, or stop an army. You just need fighters willing to fight and die.

I don't see the military doing anything like that yet, if it happens it will happen with citizens who are tired of losing their rights to a tyrannical government.

    fanfreakingtastic.

    Hopefully Texas will follow.

Tennessee and Texas are the most similar states in America. Likely because of the Alamo. But even culturally today, they are kindred souls. And I can vouch for taxation, Tennessee is better. No income tax and property taxes are 1/3 in most counties and 1/2 in Nashville compared to Texas.

But the TexMex sucks here and there is no Whataburger. Texas wins.

Preventing thefts of guns from cars is another reason for Constitutional Carry, as many people have guns in their cars, but have to leave them there if they don't have a carry permit.

I could refer to the Austin thread, but “simple” crimes are up in Nashville. They simply don’t have the police they need. So routinely cars are broken into looking for guns and other valuables. My Jeep was hit 3 years ago. All of my glove box was on the floor board, yet a $5 bill was still readily available in my console.

Evidently Metro PD has some real a**hole running the dept. Know a recent retiree who just could not take it anymore and left early. Too early for pension by a few years so had to be awfully bad for him to bail early.

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good friend with a yacht?"

That's cold. Shannon Watt's is the founder of Mom's Demand Action, a pro-gun control group.

Backstory: In an NRA bankruptcy filing LaPierre admitted that he takes refuge on a 108ft yacht because he after some mass shootings (Sandy Hook and Parkland?) out of "fear for my life", albeit he didn't pay nor report the use of this yacht. Of course, fear for life was so urgent that the first time he waited for 6 months after the Sandy Hook massacre. Fear (and a desire to go yachting) is always greater in June than December.

Seriously, LaPierre reigns over the greatest pyramid scheme ever created.

Which of Trump's policies do you see as trying to overthrow America.?
The ones that reduced unemployment among all but especially minorities to historic lows?.
The ones that increased new businesses of minorities by 40%
The ones that made us energy independent and not at the mercy of countries that hate us?
The ones that created an unprecedented alliance between private and gov't that has resulted in availability of vaccine even as media said it couldn't be done etc etc
Which policies were aimed at overthrowing America rather than making it better for all?.

No good explanation for this? The committee was taking procedural votes on Cline's amendment and Steube's amendment to HR 8 in 2019. Cline's was ruled non-germane and he refused to take it off until they could do the next committee hearing. Steube kind of parlayed that into "how much of a social media push can I get with mine?" and didn't want to take his off. Matt Gaetz was actually the first congressperson to "meme" it out to everyone.

Two weeks later, Collins inserted it as a rewrite and it passed with Democrat support.

    H.R.8 - 116th Congress (2019-2020): Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019

The better story is that once the bill was finalized, WITH THE ICE NOTIFICATION AMENDMENT IN THERE, all House Democrats except 2 voted for it, while all House Republicans except 8 (Will Hurd being one) voted against it.

Oh, and of course, Mitch wouldn't even put it on the business of the Senate.

This partisan back-and-forth and the sadness of the two who tagged it "Winner" shows a lack of understanding on several fronts.

You have the most skewed vision of the Trump years. It's incredible. Liberals in power are the problem and that's being polite.

Appreciate the additional detail. In many cases these votes are for political purposes, with the goal of getting meme-worthy content. This is why the do-nothing radicals on both sides of the aisle are worthless. If you are electing reps who apparently think their job is to throw verbal jabs, pull media stunts and produce memes then you are part of the problem. It's an extremely facile view of governing that does much more harm than good. Alas, the Ilhan Omar/MJT/Crawford/SJL's get too much attention for the wrong things.
