Perhaps his question was more about who the girl in the middle is?

Excellent. The NJCAA REGION IX TOURNAMENT is this next weekend. Casper College is playing in this and is ranked #3 nationally. This is Kobe’s team. It would be great to see Kobe and Femme teams match up.

So the upcoming tournament is for the national championship? I'm not very familiar how the NJCAA works.

There are 16 Region Qualifiers and 8 At-Large Qualifiers. So these 24 teams play a tournament at TBD locations. The Nationals will be in Lubbock I believe. I think the Nationals will be a Final Four. Don’t quote me on ANY of that. Femme’s team is in the tournament as one of the 16. Kobe’s team will be playing this week to be one of the 16. Kobe’s team is Region IX.

Based on what I've read/heard about their respective games, Aliyah and Kyndall are very similar.

From TheNext article about the 5 freshmen who will impact next season’s NCAA tournament:

Five freshmen who will take the 2022 NCAA Tournament by storm

    Aaliyah Moore
Moore highlights a really terrific recruiting class for Vic Schaefer and the Texas Longhorns, who have three top-25 players in the class. We will see what happens with players deciding to return for another year and with the transfer portal, but Moore, who is from Moore, Oklahoma, is an electric talent. The 6'1 forward is really strong and physical around the rim and can stretch her offensive skill set to the mid-range very effectively. Moore goes and gets rebounds, can lead and run the break, and has a defensive skill set that should fit Schaefer’s system really well. I can see her making an immediate impact in Austin next year as well, especially with the probable departure of Charli Collier, the likely No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft. Moore will probably not play the center position, at least not right away, but she will have an impact at the four and if she can develop her outside shot a bit more, the sky is the limit for her. I think we will be hearing a lot about Aaliyah Moore next year, especially in March.

Femme’s team is ranked 8th in nation with Kobe’s team ranked third. Possibility that they might play each other in Lubbock.

As several of us agree, "Rebounding" is about effort and instinct. It comes more naturally to some players than others. Hoping Femme brings that.

Yep... it's a "want to" thing. Aimee Smith proved that to us years ago.

So we have 4 guards coming in ....Harmon, Hunter, Kobe and Matharu. Two leaving in Taylor and Ortiz. So with my engineering degree.....that’s net two positive and definitely an upgrade. Good mix of skills. So I think we’re done with guard transfers. Moore fills a huge need at power forward. Suzukani may be better than I thought but watching her in the NJCAA playoffs starting this weekend will tell a lot. So I will be interested in seeing if Schaefer thinks the need is at swing forward or another center. If those transfers he wants doesn’t show in portal, he may wait on 2022. I sure would hate not to have slots open and have to tell great players there is no room. Just musing on a Thursday trying not to get depressed when Spieth misses another short putt.

I am blown away by the squad Vic is putting together, with the addition of Matharu and Sikuzani, along with all the others. What an interesting assemblage of players. With the right chemist and some good coaching, we may have quite a team next year. It sounds like we're going to be really deep at guard, especially. Can't wait.

Not judging anything, but my daughter played softball in that region for one semester. Most of the players played slightly better than league ball talent so she transferred back to a school in Texas. Hopefully the basketball is better up there.

Kobe didn’t start today’s game. In 19 minutes she had 14 points, 2-2 BTA, 10 bounds, 5 assists. Only 1 turnover. There are five players playing more minutes than she but the coach is playing 10. Caspar was down 5 going into the fourth quarter but won my 7. Guess it’s no slam dunk they’ll make it to Lubbock.
