We really need a difference maker at LB. Probably Jefferson was the last one to do that at UT. Would love a DL like we had in the late 70's as well where all 4 were legit difference makers!!

1983 defense, where a kid that never played a down got drafted by the Steelers as a DL, and stuck on their roster for 4-5 years.

Its interesting to see the difference in approach to recruiting from TH to Sark. We are putting out a lot of offers now that would not have gone out from the previous staff. Its all hype now so we need to strike with recruits while the iron is hot. Not having a coach that pisses off people is certainly a plus!!! Plenty of talent in Texas to not have to recruit a lot nationally but Sark will have to prove his worth during the season or it will not sway the Texas recruits. Like I said for now they are interested so thats good!

    5* OL Kam Dewberry ...

“It’s the culture at Texas. I’ve visited Texas more than any other school that I've ever been to. That's what people sometimes don't realize,” Dewberry said. “They feel like I'm big on A&M but I've been to Texas more times than A&M, and Texas is further from where I live. So that that goes to show that I'm very high on Texas and they are one of my priority schools.”

Orangebloods - New staff has Texas in play for 5-star Kam Dewberry

His HS coach was a WR for Todd Dodge at Port Arthur and succeeded Todd as QB before roaring off to Brazos County.

I wasn't sure about Dewberry but now I feel much better. I think we have a pretty good chance of landing the big three: Campbell, Banks and Dewberry. That would be huge for the horns. Also we have a good shot for a few others that are really good in there own right. This has the potential to be our best o-line class in a very long time and coming at a time that is absolutely necessary.....but you never know about o-lineman. I think we need a minimum of 5.

    Per 24-7: 6'6" 305 ***, Per Rivals: 6'7" 340 ****. From Detroit city.

Could be some payback for the talent Big Blue has cherry picked from Texas over the years. In the brief interview I saw (before our offer), he indicated that Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, and Oregon were high on his list. He seemed to put a premium on who the position coach was at the various places. The camp video available shows he's also good at OL. He's carrying a bit of the wrong kind of weight (but not too awful much--certainly not any more than Coburn was and look how he's turned out). Yet he's quick for his massive size. He's interested in studying Sports Management. Big Blue is probably the team to beat for his services, but I like our aggressive offering and invasion of the North.

IT had a source tell them last night that Oregon and Texas are the two most likely landing spots for WR Evan Stewart of Frisco Liberty as he heads into official visits.

There had been a lot of talk that his father (or both parents) preferred he sign with Alabama.

Per 247, Michigan WR Xavier Worthy is contemplating entering the portal.

This is the guy who was considering flipping to Alabama before National Signing Day because of Sark.

If he does leave Michigan, Georgia and UT are supposed be "heavily involved."

247 mentioned last night that there is "increasing buzz" with WR Brenen Thompson from Spearman.

The staff has been doing a good job lately of connecting with him and his mother.

They should have more on that today.

    Brenen Thompson, Spearman, Wide Receiver

They added that Oklahoma State and Texas are at the front of the pack currently despite there being some early Clemson momentum.

His plan is to unofficially visit UT this summer, and follow that up with an official in the fall where he's anxious to see Sark's offense.

We have seen numerous examples already of Sarks prior rep and rapport with recruits paying off. Your noted news on Worthy one more example. Here's update... (appears official now)
Michigan WR signee Xavier Worthy requests release from NLI, is linked to Texas

(Not sure why 247 would term this a portal, as technically it isn't...though end result the same)

Per IT, Texas is pursuing USC transfer LB Palaie Gaoteote and coaches Kwiatkowski and Choate have positioned themselves well to win out..
Former 5*. He will have 2 years of eligibility.

Palaie Gaoteote IV, USC, Inside Linebacker

We are in on so many good players my head is swimming, exactly opposite of the direction TH was going. This is why he had to go which is what I wanted long before he actually went. It is working out better than I imagined except I was thinking Urban Meyer. But I like Sark much more so its 2x better than I imagined. Yes I know it's early and I should temper my enthusiasm but it's hard.
