This is as deep a team as Pierce has had in his time at Texas and while you never want to lose starters for a few games in a weekend series this years team has players off the bench who are starter ready and are good enough to handle that sort of adversity.
Game one review from Texassports: No 4. Baseball scores eight runs in the eighth to beat Kansas State, 13-6 - University of Texas Athletics
Meh, I was at the game and I didn't have a big problem with it. It was early and they have to make 2 good throws to get him. They could have been off but they weren't. IMO he should have slammed on the brakes and headed back for 3rd instead of trying to bump the catcher, who had the ball.
Our bats are blowing up again today. 15 runs, 13 hits. UT 15 KSU 1 KSU has a 17-12 (about to be 17-13) record. It's not like these guys are terrible.
No worries with the starters sitting on suspension as the Horns jump all over KSU and win the Saturday afternoon game 15-1. They will look to finish off a very important sweep tomorrow.
TCU beat Tech yesterday and sits at 7-0 in conference. Could use some help today and tomorrow from Red Raiders so Horns can stay in contact with the froggies.
Saturday game reviews from Texassports and BON: No. 4 Baseball blasts Kansas State, 15-1 - University of Texas Athletics No. 4 Texas smashes Kansas State 15-1 to take series
Tech beats TCU in 10 innings so Texas is one game back in loss column to TCU but technically the Horns lead the Big XII at 1/2 game up in the standings as we head into Sunday’s games.
I'm mostly watching the Masters today but keeping an eye on the Horns here and there. Kubichek had 7 good innings and the good guys are up 6-2 T8.
Another sweep!! Horns are 5-0 so far in this 10 game home stand. I would be very surprised if we don't finish 10-0. This team is on fire!
In the last 6 games (and we may not be done scoring yet today) the Hittin' Horns are averaging 12 runs per game. Should I copyright Hittin' Horns and print t-shirts?
KSU should just halt the game after this inning Not waste time coming out for the 9th Say the plane is ready to leave or something
[QUOTE=" the Hittin' Horns are averaging 12 runs per game. Should I copyright Hittin' Horns and print t-shirts?[/QUOTE] "Home of the 12th Run?" Be careful. I smell a boycott coming from a **** hole to the east.
Horns win the Sunday finale 9-2 to finish a sweep not only of K-State but of the Kansas schools on the year. Meanwhile Tech beat TCU again today so the Horns now sit even in the loss column and 1 and a 1/2 games up in the Big XII standings as they head into an out of conference series next weekend. Texas trailed 6-5 Friday headed to bottom of the 8th and from then on outscored the Wildcats 32-3. Oh and Melendez is the man!
