It's just odd that we have zero commits for 2022. You would that after an Elite Eight appearance, that might have sparked some excitement from those considering Texas. Some of the typical big name schools have 1 commit, some have 3-4. I'm just wondering who will be the first for us.
I don't know that it's all that odd; I think our coaching staff is being very selective for the 2022 class based on limited scholarships. We signed three class of 2021 high school seniors in November, as well as two JUCO's who will be sophomores (eligibility-wise) their first season at Texas. Breakdown for 2021-22 season (as of 04/13/2021): Juniors (3): Allen-Taylor, Ebo, and Warren Sophomores (3): Femme, Kobe, Matharu Freshmen (7): Kyndall, Rori, Aaliyah, DeYona, Shay Holle, Precious Johnson, Ashley Cheaviler So, we have two openings at the moment; and, most of us believe those will be filled with incoming transfers. While there could be 1 or 2 more defections this off-season creating additional openings, I'd bet the coaching staff looks for immediate help via the transfer portal before deciding to hold those 'ships for 2022 high school seniors.
With the way that the transfer portal is going to impact the game, now and in the future I don't understand the hand ringing over 2022 recruits.
I'm sure our coaching staff has a plan. It's not like they aren't recruiting any 2022 seniors at all. But, once/if we land any senior or grad-transfers, that will potentially dictate how many scholarships could be available for the high school senior class of 2022 recruits.

In her 3 seasons of varsity basketball (started as a freshman but junior season cut short by injury), per game she averaged 22.0 points, 8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.5 blocks.
Wouldn't be shocked at all. I certainly wouldn't complain if most were from the MidWest: Ohio (Bransford and Oldacre) and Illinois (McDaniel). I'd even be happy with another Oklahoman (Littlepage-Buggs).

Very quick for her size and can really attack the basket on her first move which is very rare these days. Also a great passer and fits in very well with our 2021 class. Me personally, I love watching players who have that in game attitude who don't take any bs from opponents and she definitely has that. Her demeanor is like Herbert Harrigan from SC. Definitely brings a spark to the team
Looks like a really nice player at a position of need. I think her commitment also says that Jackson isn't entering the portal.
She looks like a gazelle with her quick burst and speed. Defense looks really good. Definitely a big guard need. She shoots it well and has a good handle. A funky shot but it looks solid all the way beyond the arc. I like how she will fit to what the team needs and style Schaefer likes.

She has now added the offensive skill to take her to the next level. Her pull-up is almost impossible to defend and she is knocking down 3-point shots at a higher clip. With her length, 6-foot-1 frame and ability to elevate, combined with the fundamental offensive skill additions, watch for her to be a major stock riser this summer. After averaging 18.1 points, 11 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, her recruitment is wide open. Among the schools pursuing her include Baylor, Texas, Louisville, Tennessee, Georgia and Texas A&M, among many others from power conferences.
