And having your pay garnished, unless required by law regardless of pay history, is a damn good reason to reconsider why that person is an employee.

So transgendered people should be able to participate in sports. I agree. That isn't the issue. The NCAA isn't saying transgender women should play in women's sports specifically. They really didn't say anything.

Plus the NCAA could disappear and college sports will still go forward.

Can someone give me an estimate on the number of trans issues that have arisen to cause states like Oklahoma to go the full monty and see themselves lose things like the national softball tournament? 5, 50, 500, etc?

Since trans is a pretty new idea, we all know the number's going to be low this far and increase in line with acceptance. I'm guessing you are thinking of sports. Take a look at CeCe Telfer, who competed on the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team in 2016 and 2017 and ranked 200th in 2016 and 390th in 2017 in 400 meter hurdles. In 2019, Telfer finished first in the 400 meter hurdles on the women's track and field team. CeCe says no advantage in the women's sports...

    So, less than 5?

I get having some form of hormone testing done by medical professionals at some levels. I've not really researched the controls and whatnot yet.

There are far more than five...but because of the fact that most were D3 and community college, the remained under the national radar. I know of at least three schools where females have lost positions on softball teams. The track and other individual sports get the largest attention because of those often being the sports where physiological differences are most noticeable.

It ALSO was not an issue in the past because we didn't see kids trying to get balls whacked off and healthy breasts lopped off while they were still in school.

It was an issue when Richard Raskind rocked the tennis world and it was an issue when the european distance runner decided to stab someone after testing became an issue and it will ALWAYS be an issue where high school males are running faster track times than FloJo when she set the world record.

My girls have played competitive soccer, softball, and basketball across these 5 states. My youngest played all three at the AAU/ASA level up until last year when she let basketball fall off to just playing at school. I expect she will be all state in at least one sport next year and start on a basketball team that has been to state 17 years in a row. I’ve never seen it once. It’s legislating unicorns.

Maybe it's 5 student-athletes today. Maybe it's 500 in 2025. What's the cut off where you have to make a decision?

And, even if it were 'legislating unicorns," I have zero qualms with preventative legislation to stop that **** from even having the remotest of remote possibility of affecting female athletes in the future. One scholarship lost, one podium lost is one too many...

To borrow loosely from Dirty Harry...that is a hell of a price to pay for being stylish.

Girls competing against guys is a great idea? Fine. Let women’s basketball teams compete against men’s teams and see how competitive they are.
    Or any sport.
A good high school team of men would wipe out a college girl soccer team

men who fancy themselves to be women are not women. They are mentally ill men and girls should not have to compete against them

Ask the WNBA players how they would do in the nba.

Or have the vaunted women’s soccer team to play the mediocre us men’s team.
It would be like a hurdles race between gazelles and snails

Or, you could ask the WNBA players how they would do against trans women in the WNBA. Oh, wait, they've already done that.
WNBA Star Layshia Clarendon on Why Trans People Belong in Sports

To try to twist it into "make them play the men's teams" is a stretch that is meant to humiliate female athletes back into their place.

An interview with a female who lopped off perfectly healthy breasts is as red of a red herring as it gets. She won't be injecting testosterone if she wants to keep playing. It is a very different scenario from a person with male physiology competing against females.

That seems like a poor example. Here we have a person who was born female, still identifies as female but also identifies as trans, and is playing a female sport. Take out the "identifies as trans" and everything still fits. There's no twist or stretch since she's by choice playing on a women's team.

Nice try. I am not trying to humiliate women. I am trying to protect their separate sports. I actually prefer to watch women’s bb because it is slower and I can follow what is going on

any of those women would have stomped me when I was younger and my gf of 50 years ago was a high school all stater in AAA and enjoyed regularly making me look like the Washington Generals. So did I.
And I enjoyed having a really smart gf who was 5 inches taller than me
You want to watch cross dressing mental cases compete against women, have at it.

This isn't at all what Clarendon addressed in the article. She literally isn't talking about herself.

    See my comment above.

Again, she addressed this in the article. People who criticize the presence of trans persons in sport don't do it for the "sanctity" of the sport, according to Clarendon. They do it under the cloak of "protecting women in sports," when in reality, she actually got the most props for her athletic prowess when she had the sense of community and belonging. If someone as high up in the WNBA food chain as her is saying this, then where are all the articles from other WNBA athletes saying they SHOULDN'T allow trans people to play them?

Bubba has a great family. I doubt he would like seeing his girls have to compete against a male. Liberals seem to like these “utopia” ideas especially if they won’t affect them personally.

Maybe we should just eliminate men’s and women’s sports. Let’s just have one football team, one basketball team, one baseball team and let anyone try out. To me, we would finally have equality.

I couldn't start for my bad high school basketball team but routinely beat the UT women's team during pick up games in Gregory back in the day. The games were competitive but usually my friends and I won.

The only thing that stood out to me about the female players was how crude and vile they were to everyone. The big exceptions were Angie Ogeltree and Danielle Viglione. If all they were all as good as Danielle back in the day we wouldn't have stood a chance. She was a great player and a good person.

I'm addressing your comments not Clarendon's comments.

"Or, you could ask the WNBA players how they would do against trans women in the WNBA. Oh, wait, they've already done that."

That is a poor example. It's a person who was born female, playing a female sport, and still identifying as female and trans. Let us see the folks born male playing in the WNBA.
