My family and friends experienced nothing as well. Even my 88 year old mother didn't experience anything.

Like Bubba I slept well that night. I take an antibody shot every month for my asthma called Nucala, which knocks me out as well.

Sore arm for 24 hours for first Pfizer shot. Soreness was cut in half for the 2nd shot.

"slept VERY well" is what most rational people would call "fatigue" or, alternately, a side effect/reaction.

Very glad to hear your positive experiences Bubba. Just realize that is not universal. A granddaughter and husband took it ‘after’ having had Covid (against all our counsel) and both she and husband were fever/fatigue for 2-3 days. We’re saying they are immuno-compromised for some reason cause they were way-layed with the Covid for almost two weeks. Both are in later 20’s.

There's a SIGNIFICANT difference between the typical response your body has while making the antibody to having a reportable vaccine "reaction". 24-48 hours of symptoms (fever, nausea, fatigue, chills, headache, etc.). I was fatigued for a day after each vaccine and my arm was nominally sore.

You sound like my 24 year old daughter who acted as if she was going to die because her tummy hurt.

They say that if you take it after having the disease your body could have stronger symptoms. I'm not sure why. We had people take it within a week of being cleared to come back. We had people get diagnosed positive for COVID between doses and they took the second dose when they returned. They only thing you didn't do was get the vaccine for 90 days if you'd received antibody therapy as a COVID treatment.

My doc friend said that 97% of the docs at the tertiary hospital his wife works at had received the vaccine and only 47% of the nurses. Welcome to the red state!

I've heard similar ideas and that really makes me wonder about this as well. I've been very vocal on this thread about being in a busy retail environment and being exposed to literally over a million customers over the past year. Makes me wonder if so many of my employees are having such strong reactions because they've already had the virus without knowing. If that is true it tells me even more about the real number of folks who've already had it and how ridiculously overblown this thing has been.

Young people are more asymptomatic with it than the rest of us. We're at about double of where we thought would be a really bad ending a year ago. So, yeah, not "overblown".

Coworker took vaccine after 8 weeks of coming down with covid. Like you said, fever and chills for 2 days.

In Urban areas like Los Angeles and Houston, blood serum studies have shown >40% has had COVID.

My company is giving Pfizer or Moderna vaccines by appointment at the medical clinic. No lines, no waiting, no cost. On top of that, you can get a $50 gift card with proof of vaccination. All this in an effort to get everyone back at the facility in August. We’ve mostly been working from home for 13 months now.

Scipio Tex, who used to comment here many years ago said on his podcast he had to fly in from CA to get a vaccination. He walked into a Walgreens off the street and got it.

A doc I work with had an 88 year old father take the 2nd moderna this week. A day later he had all of the symptoms of a cardiac event. It went away after a day. A day in the hospital getting the full cardiac workup - all negative. The ER resident said that they'd had a run of those just this month. They theorize that it causes some muscle seizures in the lower esophagus that seems to feel like chest pain.

Interesting development. I hate to generalize from the specific but I also like to be fully transparent with those with whom I often disagree. :) I'm going to keep googling. I've not found anything similar yet.

88 and esophageal muscle seizures would scare the heck out of someone. Glad he is ok.

This anecdote confirms what I have been seeing in the hospitals in the Dallas and Austin areas as well.

This is a damning indictment of nursing education.

The next time somebody tells you that "healthcare workers are refusing the vaccine" then remember this statement.

The correct statement is "healthcare workers who don't know what they are doing are refusing the vaccine"

Let's think about this. There is an entire industry of plaintiffs lawyers suing drug manufacturers daily due to harmful or allegedly harmful drugs. In the past, drugs have both helped the population and caused horrendous unintended damage (Thalidomide, Bextra, Vioxx, Baycol, etc). Some of those drugs were manufactured by the same company providing the vaccine.

Governments (the U.S. gave money to the Wuhan lab thanks to Fauci) caused the virus, and throughout history governments have killed a few hundred million people with their stupidity. However, if a government turd tells you to take a vaccine it is a great idea. Got it. Your logic is a damning indictment of your education.

I don't listen to "government turds" I listen to legitimate scientists and doctors who do this research for a living.

Let's be clear -- there is risk everywhere. Anti-vax fools don't understand the concept of relative risk.

I once had this argument with a dude who said that vaccines kill people. I countered by stating "seat belts kill people too, are you going to be an idiot and refuse to wear your seat belt" and of course he had nothing to say because his focus on vaccine risks is so myopic that he doesn't use the same analysis to other aspects of life.

Here's a fact -- hundreds of people have been killed by seat belts. They trap you inside a burning car. They trap you inside a sinking car. They can sometimes cause severe neck compression resulting in asphyxia or spine injuries. By anti-vax logic, nobody should wear a seat belt, ever, under any circumstances.

Here's another example -- what car do you drive? Because no matter what model or manufacturer it is, there are hundreds of lawsuits filed against that manufacturer for defects.

Here's a little risk education for you; Regardless of relative risk that can be measured quantitatively, everybody's risk tolerance (qualitative risk) is different. Apparently, some pro vax fools don't understand the concept of risk tolerance. Just because you think the vaccine benefit v cost tradeoff is acceptable doesn't mean others feel the same way. That is not a damning indictment of anyone's education. Regardless, why do you give a rat's *** what others do? You took the vaccine so you're safe, right?

You have to forgive AH...they believed that because others were making money on $GME that everyone would make money. It seems they lost their *** (or we would have heard about the massive cashout when the March puts were ripe) and now believe everyone should be hold the same views on risk as AH does...

Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue to evaluate risks and make decisions on all things impacting our lives, be they investments, vaccines or, yes, even wearing seat belts (I don't, by the way).

I don't care what you do.

But people using your poor logic refuse to vaccinate their kids, who have no say in the matter.

Car wrecks kill 30-40k people every single year.

Anybody who drives a car but refuses vaccines is a fool, period.

And those kids have no demonstrable risk from the sniffles either...pushing a 'vaccine' that has not even been thoroughly vetted on minors is child abuse at best and eugenics at worst.

Be honest -- even if there was a study of 100 million kids that showed zero side effects you'd still refuse to give it.

Don't talk to me about science when you refuse to follow what the science says regardless.

It's people like you who are the problem. It is statistically zero percent of kids who have any symptoms at all. It's practically zero percent for any healthy person but even less for kids. Why in the hell would a healthy parent vaccinate their kid for something that doesn't impact their lives at all? You think you have to tell people what they should do and are a huge problem in our country. You do you and leave everyone else out of it.

Again, let's examine your statement, which is essentially: "The presence of existing risks justifies taking additional risks". Obviously, taking additional risks makes you less safe, not more.

If I told you that the adolescent deaths caused by Adverse Effects to Medical Treatment in the U.S. were .38 per 1,000, but the deaths from Covid were .006 per 1,000 in Texas, would you say that it is better to not have medical treatment for Covid, or it is better to have medical treatment? Would you still call people fools for not taking the vaccine? After all, medical treatment is based on "legitimate science" just like the Thalidomide drug was based on "legitimate science".

Anybody that knows anything about the body knows whatever you put inside your body, your body will have a reaction. Sometimes good, but sometimes bad. I was called anti-vax by people on the board as well as liberal family members. I simply chose to wait and see what possible side effects occurred and I didn’t jump the line simply because I could. I get my second shot Monday. I literally had zero side effects from the first one. Not even a sore arm.
