Just go with what? Not putting an ******* on the ticket? Why? It's such an easy thing to compromise on if your priorities are straight.
What you're saying sounds very righteous, but think about what it really means. You're elevating someone's personality preferences over policy preferences. Someone could say, "I'm a fiscal and social conservative but I'm not comfortable with this foul-mouthed orange guy who says stupid things." You'll say, "then screw off. You have to like the foul-mouthed orange guy who says stupid things."
I know exactly what you're thinking. You're thinking, "they're the ones elevating personality over policy. I'm the real conservative, and I don't sell out on policy or to stupid people." But is that really true? To build the Trump coalition, we had to give up entitlement reform. It's the biggest fiscal concession in the history of American politics.
And you don't play ball with idiots? In 2016, Trump actively built an electoral coalition with Alex Fuckin' Jones and his audience. You don't think there are plenty of idiots in that audience? We gave up entitlement reform and the suburbs (who are people that regularly vote) to build a coalition with this guys like this. He loves entitlements and doesn't care about the deficit and seldom votes, but he likes the orange guy. But we don't sell out to idiots.
