USF
Texas Tech swept this team in a 3 game series. 16-6, 8-0, 7-4.
But USF won their regional and should not be an easy opponent, and definitely should not be taken lightly.
Pitching: Looks like a solid staff with plenty of decent relievers. The common theme with this staff is not overpowering, but good control, multiple-pitch arsenals, and smart/"crafty." They get a lot of strike outs.
Starters:
Jack Jasiak 2.89 ERA, 6-7, 89 SO, 21 walks
Right hander. Throws in the low 90s with some movement on his fastball. Good slider. Good control. Lots of strikeouts.
Brad Lord, 4.90 ERA, 3-4, 60 SO, 18 walks.
Pitched for a 4-0 loss against So. Alabama in the regionals.
Collin Sullivan, 3.69 ERA, 3-3,
88 SO, 14 walks.
Right hander. Low 90s fastball and a "sharp" curveball, resulting in many strikeouts. Starts and relieves. Prone to the occasional really bad inning.
Relievers:
Orion Kerkering 2.28 ERA, 5-3, 60 SO, 30 walks, 5 saves
Right hander. Big strong pitcher 6'2" 204. Fastball and sinker. Likes to "live low in the zone." Relief pitcher who can start; sometimes the closer. Got the save against Florida in the regionals. Got the deciding win over So. Alabama in the regionals as a reliever with 4.1 innings pitched.
Dylan Burns 4.08 ERA, 5-5, 82 SO, 34 walks.
Right hander. Fastball with control + a good slider that he throws often. Loves that slider. Does a lot of middle relief. Got the win against Florida in the regionals.
Logan Lyle 2.01 ERA, 5-1, 45 SO, 14 walks, 4 saves
Left hander. Throws in the high 80s with good control. Reliable. Crafty with change up and curve. Smart pitcher. Got the win over Miami in the regionals.
Baron Stuart 6.82 ERA, 3-2, 34 SO, 23 walks.
Low 90s fastball with a big breaking "heavy" slider.
Joseph Sanchez 4.94 ERA, 0-2, 1 save,
23 SO, 3 walks.
Left handed reliever. 6'1" 212. 3/4 arm motion. Not overpowering, but another guy with good control who paints the corners. Good movement. Another smart crafty pitcher. Closer in the Miami game in the regionals. Good under pressure. Pitched the Bulls out of a jam in the deciding game over So. Alabama in the regionals.
Devin Hemenway 4.76 ERA, 0-0, 16 SO, 8 walks
Left handed reliever. A transfer from U. of Florida via Santa Fe college. Mid-to-high 80s fastball, plenty of curves/sinkers, crafty, good control.
Caleb Pundsack 7.27 ERA, 0-0, 0 saves, 7 SO, 9 walks.
Left handed reliever. High 80s/low 90s fastball.
