Yeah, Mitch was so effective when he held that position.

He basically remade the federal judiciary. He's probably the most effective majority leader since LBJ.

Then the point of putting McConnell back in leadership would make no difference. Yes, he did help to get the Supreme Court nominees through. Is that going to put the brakes on the liberal agenda that @HornHuskerDad was talking about?

He made judicial nominations as much of a blood sport for the Right as it has long been for the Left both under Trump and Biden. As for the difference he could make now, he'd be able to force Biden to play ball with him on all legislative and budget matters. Green New Deal? Dead. Nationalization of voting? Dead. Tax hikes? Dead. Obamacare expansion? Dead. Criminal justice reform and infrastructure? Maybe, but it would look a lot different. He could play all kinds of budget games on the CRT crap that executive agencies are pushing. He could kill any nomination of Biden's at any time.

Using a sports analogy, McConnell is a defensive minded coach that wants to win 7-3 or 10-7 on the field.

When you don't control the entire legislative process (both houses and the White House), you can't play a lot of offense.

I'd love to watch them do that for the winter solstice, equinoxes, and other times of the year. Let me start for them, free of charge:

We are approaching the winter solstice – an opportunity to appreciate longer stretches indoors. While in astrology this time of year is marked with contemplation of the darkness, during CHRISTMAS Time we choose to celebrate beyond the light binaries where everyone may benefit from the salvation of Jesus Christ with feelings of: love, joy, growth, emotions, caring for others, and remorse for sin. We all belong and these good tidings of joy belong to us as a learning community.

Ultimately the CRT and white supremacists actually agree a lot. They reach different conclusions, but their underlying assumptions are pretty much the same. David Duke has more in common with Ibram X. Kendi than he does with a mainstream conservative.

It's all about elevating or relegating groups of people based on skin color. There are no exceptions to group identity in their minds. People can't just be a person to them.

    True
We are all one race anyway. We are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Just different levels of melanin. Different cultures and languages but one race.

I agree with your point, but I think you mean melanin. Melatonin is the stuff that puts you to sleep. Lol.

Thank you Mr deez. I stand corrected. I will change that. And i did feel a little uncomfortable with using the word melatonin. I should have investigated it.

I'm really blown away by this. The Democrats, deep thinkers all "snort" have identified rising crime as a threat to their hold on power.

    Really?

We told you defunding the police would do this. It was not to support cops killing black men at will. It was the COMMON SENSE that crime loves a law enforcement vacuum. My children know this. But the political sensibilities and pressure from the cancel culture caused Democrats to make terrible mistakes. They are not leaders.

They are catchers of the wind upon a moist finger...

Hell, if they had just gone back a few decades and looked at what happened in Texas prisons when the Building Tender system was effectively forced to be dismantled almost overnight. That action by Judge Justice was what gave the gangs the ability to get such a foothold in the Texas prison system...the building tenders masked a severe staff shortage. Before TDC (as it was then known) could get staffing built up, the vacuum had been filled by the gangs.

It WAS the institutional version of what is happening in cities today...

Liberals will deny they invented the cancel culture. They will deny they have encouraged illegal immigration by their policies.

    Now this;

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/top-biden-adviser-blames-guns-174000445.html

"When pressed about whether the crime surge could be caused by rampant law enforcement retirements, declines in prosecutions, or "defund the police" policies that followed the death of George Floyd, Richmond put the blame on the GOP for failing to support Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which he said included funds for police departments.

“And let's talk about who defunded the police,” he said. “When we were in Congress last year trying to pass a rescue plan — I’m sorry, not the rescue plan but an emergency relief plan for cities that were cash-strapped and laying off police and firefighters, it was the Republicans who objected to it. And in fact, they didn't get funding until the American Rescue Plan, which our plan allowed state and local governments to replenish their police departments and do the other things that are needed.”

“Political systems all across the country — I mean, all across the world — pass legislation with majorities, and they’re fine, and frankly, here’s the thing ... Democratic legislation, once enacted, is popular,” the New York Democrat said on a segment of NBC’s Meet the Press. “Republicans have tried to gut Social Security, they’ve tried to reverse the ACA, they’ve tried to claw back on legislation that has passed by simple majorities in the Senate.”

It takes a leader to say no to an addict. Americans are addicts to the gifts given by the Left.
