"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday criticized an all-white group of senators who reached a bipartisan deal on infrastructure legislation, pointing out the group's lack of diversity and arguing it excluded marginalized communities.

"The diversity of this 'bipartisan coalition' pretty perfectly conveys which communities get centered and which get left behind when leaders prioritize bipartisan dealmaking over inclusive lawmaking (which prioritizes delivering the most impact possible for the most people)," the New York Democrat tweeted alongside a photo of the group of lawmakers with President Joe Biden outside the White House on Thursday.

"This is why a bipartisan [package] alone isn't acceptable," Ocasio-Cortez went on to say. "The exclusion & denial of our communities is what DC bipartisan deals require. That's how you get GOP on board: don't do much/any for the working class & low income, or women, or poc communities, or unions, etc. We must do more."

Limiting illegal immigration of low skilled workers is the best policy to help these folks. What a moron.

Where you kidding SH? Biden admitted he wasn’t signing this without the ‘extreme’ coming with it. This is nothing but a means for Romney et al, to say he got something, oh how hard he tried.

Is that your opinion or did I miss a quote from Biden? The extreme left is up in arms. Infrastructure is an issue that Biden could hit down the middle without little fallout from the extremes, aside from their loud complaints. It's really the perfect issue to target a bi-partisan deal. Does that mean he won't continue to try to get a deal the left favors? No, thus the "reconciliation" process running in parallel. That's his bargaining chip to say to Republicans, if you back away from your commitments then I'll do it without you in a more extreme deal.

I voted for Biden because he was more capable of compromise in the form of bi-partisanship vs. the more extremes of the D party that are not all too different than the Trump supporters in that they live in an all-or-nothing world where compromise is considered abhorrent because they are convinced the ideological opponent is evil. The world isn't black/white but rather gray which means that compromise is an essential component of our politics.

As far as I can tell, AOC has her own definition of compromise - "Be reasonable, do it my way."

Just watched the clip of Buffoon Biden whispering into the mic.
If he etc weren't destroying our country I would feel sorry that Dems are letting him make such a spectacle.
Why do no leftists on here ever defend this?

He is. But now he is in his own world forced to perform by his handlers. And he is not capable. What they are doing to our country is horrific and destructive.
People complained about Orange man bad who sent mean tweets but they sure couldn't complain about the good things he did for America including historic gains for Blacks and all minorities.

The Democrats want to Defund the Police and blame the surge in illegal aliens on Trump. It is THEIR POLICIES that are causing the problem. That's who they are: 100% political. Why would anyone believe in them?

Well I guess you would if you were an illegal alien, a member of their tribe or a criminal. That's who they cater to.

Trump on the other hand was tough on all of that; so, they hate him for it.

    That's America now folks.

And don't fall for the "Trumps a liar" line. So are Biden-Harris. So was Obama. The lie excuse is just that; an excuse. They hated his policies so he had to be destroyed.

Biden gets more pathetic every day.
Yesterday he said the reason "Latnix" aren't getting vaccinated is because they think if they get jabbed they will be deported.

I see where Bubba gets his theories.

Actually, socialism and communism are evil. Those systems have killed a couple hundred million people. There is a reason conservatives fight against those failed ideas. The question is, why do libs support them given the massive evidence of their failure?

Other than the few instances of cages and the like, Trump is 100% right on immigration law enforcement. I don't consider Biden or the open border types to be evil; I consider them to be wrong. There is no compromise with zealots and that's what the open border Democrats are. Congress needs to fix the law if it's a problem. There is no compromise; the President is to manage under the law.

Another day of Biden's accomplishments at the border; Yesterday, Customs and Border Protection found twenty illegal alien children that had been abandoned in the harsh Texas brush country by their "coyotes". How many children have died and not been found? It's hot as hell out there, and there are many, many dangerous animals in those areas, not the least of which are rattlesnakes. Biden's boot lickers, Kamala and Alejandro Mayorkas were touting how much progress they have made since taking over. I guess if you define massive failure as success, they should be up for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Here is Mayorkas' quote when being vetted by the Senate for his current position:
In his opening statement Tuesday, Mayorkas called the events of Jan. 6 "horrifying" and said that if confirmed, he will do "everything I can to ensure that the tragic loss of life, the assault on law enforcement, the desecration of the building that stands as one of the three pillars of our democracy, and the terror felt by you, your colleagues, staff, and everyone present, will not happen again."

Of course, the only person that did not die of natural causes on Jan 6 was an unarmed, veteran woman protestor shot by a security guard. He calls Jan 6 tragic, but supports illegal immigration which is killing children by the thousands (3,600 since 2014).

Democrats could not care less about children unless they can be used for political gain. Democrats suck in every way possible.

Unfortunately, the extremes of the Democratic Party view "compromise" as an evil to be avoided - it's "all-or-nothing" for them.

Congress agrees to borrow / steal money from the future, to buy votes now. Exciting details at 11!

And ... it's gone. Slow Joe slurred out the plan of having both the totally wonderful and bipartisan deal to borrow and spend, and then a separate, Democrat-only pork barrel bill later. Which, as could be predicted by anyone who isn't 79 years old, senile, and soiling into a diaper, blew up the bipartisan deal.

Slow Joe is so stupid he can't even keep his mouth shut about his backstabbing until after the back is stabbed.

I've watched a lot of politics in my days, and I've not seen anyone as utterly stupid as Slow Joe on the stage. Even Obama, with his "Don't call my bluff" statement, wasn't this dumb.

They've made progress in their voter replacement program anyway. With 200 grand of illegals running across the border every month, never to be deported, that's a lot of votes to be had, since voter ID is racialist.

Leftist states prefer to use the honor system in voting - unless it's a non Party approved issue like the recall of the CA governor. Then they demand signature verification on a line by line basis.

Yeah, that one was a hoot!

No one except honky leftists uses the term Latinx. It's the abortion of the term they tried to popularize, Latino, which went nowhere, but was also considered sexualist as it only refers to dudes, not women, which would be Latina. So they pulled out thin air an x to put on the end, and try to make a neutered version of it.

Gotta love how Sloe Joe thinks any Hispanic is an illegal alien who ran across the border last week. If any Republican said this they'd never hear the end of it, for Slow Joe it'll all be covered up.

    Re: Border

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/harris-while-finally-visiting-border-201721704.html

"Harris blamed the Trump administration for the ongoing situation at the border, which the current administration has refused to call a crisis, claiming "we inherited a tough situation." She praised Mayorkas and his team for their efforts.

"I commend all of them for their success they have seen thus far, I call it progress, we're not exactly where we want to be yet, but
we've seen extreme progress over these last few months because of his dedication and his efforts," she says."

Bystander says: Kamala Harris is incompetent and a complete liar. That's 2nd in command. That's what voting against Trump gave us.

"Then, Biden also said he was so committed to a second, separate infrastructure bill containing liberal policy priorities they planned to pass with only Democratic votes that he would not sign the compromise legislation unless the other passed too.

“I expect in the coming months, this summer before the fiscal year is over, that we will have voted on this bill, the infrastructure bill, as well as voted on the budget resolution,” Biden said. “But if this is the only thing that comes to me, I’m not signing it. It’s in tandem.”

That sat uneasily alongside Biden’s assurances to the five Republican senators on hand for his infrastructure announcement: “They have my word, I’ll stick with what we’ve proposed, and they’ve given me their word as well.”
