This video never gets old. Between last eve and today I've watched it at least a dozen times... Also shared it with some other Horn buddies that don't post here.
So far, I've got 3 f*** off replies from aggy friends by text and a couple of Facebook unfriendings over this one.
Not much choice in the matter. It’s not like they have a veto vote so it would be foolish looking to have a 12-2 or 13-1 vote. Might as well put a smiley face on it and rake in the extra money.
I wish we knew the format but if Texas plays ag, Arkansas, OU and LSU/Mo every year, life is good! Ill get Thanksgiving back!
Hard to say what the split of teams will be. If the SEC keeps the East - West divisions, then some team need to go to the east to balance the league out. Missouri was sent to the east as they had little stroke compared to ATM. Now with 16 teams, the SEC could go to 4 team groups, then with a two round playoff for more money. Maybe OU Texas ATM and Arky in one, Missouri LSU MSU Miss in another, Bama Aurburn Tenn and Vandy, then UK UF SC and KY in the last. Traditional rivals like Bama and LSU would play each other every year, and Tenn Ga, etc, with 2-4 rotating opponents from the rest of the league.
I am curious, who would be Texas' traditional rival? At this point it could only be Missouri. My LSU buddy still swears other teams are coming, at least FSU and another ACC, probably Clemson.
So I got up this morning, fed the dogs and the cats, and watched this twice. This is the best day ever!
That's what I'm trying to figure out if we go the pod rout. Is there a 2 game playoff to get to the National Championship playoff, then 2 games for the NC? That's a lot of games. I think the ultimate plan is to get 32 teams, flush the NCAA, and then have our own National Championship playoff from those 32 teams. I would be against expanding the playoff pool beyond the 32 teams. Let the others have their own playoff.
I agree the plan is to flush the NCAA. I suspect SEC will try to draw a few big name teams and force the hand of the others. Even ND could have a problem if 4 or more big name teams move.
LSU has to like that pod—relatively weak based on recent years. Of course, Leach at MSU and the new Ole Miss regime could change that. Still: no Bama, no UT, no OU, not even an Auburn to stand in LSU’s way to dominate that pod.
Tru Dat but if LSU has to play Bama every year that could make it interesting. I hope there is a rotation of pods. But I would love to play Arkie, OU and aggie every year.
If the SEC is able to poach Michigan and Ohio State from the B1G, I think it’s game over. USC and Oregon will then either join, or become irrelevant. That’s a really big “if”, and the academic part of the Michigan equation might hold some weight.
Correct and a great fan base. I went there for the last game and they understand and love football. They understand that big time match ups are important to the sport. I say offer USC and Oregon, maybe Washington and and UCLA (cuz I love the Rose Bowl) and move on.
There is supposed to be a funny vid with a Longhorn running through an airport but can't find Won't be long until a new Hitler vid shows up
