"Bob Bowlsby said he expects the schools to attempt to join the SEC sooner than 2025." You don't say...
This whole thing going down to the Sec exposed aggy and showed how inept our commissioner was .. That guy has has been on auto pilot since taking the job… Most of the other conference teams fans thought he had no control over anything.. Figurehead in name only.
You might get some push back from SabreHorn. After all, Bowlsby is one of his favorite people. Brace yourself in 3,2,1…
After a couple of years we will all see that the $EC Commissioner will still put a hand on the scale to ensure either Alabama, Florida, Georgia or LSU will have a sufficiently easy enough Conference schedule to go undefeated. This has been happening for quite a while.
Whatever SabreHorn says, I'll listen - he knows what's he's talking about, and he always adds interest and insight to the thread.
He'll find a way to blame everything on California. And make devastatingly brilliant jokes like "Cali-prune-ya". The unappreciated genius is how "prune" doesn't even sound like "forn". I only wish I were as clever.
I just read that if Colt McCoy's all time passing yard stats were transferred to the SEC he would be #1. Sam Ehlinger would be #5.
Interesting read with Big8/Big12 history refresher...and alot of UT bashing... The history behind Texas' and Oklahoma's move to the SEC -- and why it's happening now
Here's a pretty comprehensive and informative piece with many aspects of the changing landscape... Answering the biggest questions for Texas, Oklahoma and what comes next
Interesting article. Not sure why the headline (as well as near the end of the article) the writer is raising doubts as to whether Texas and zero-u are really going to the SEC. That determination has been made; it's just a matter of when, not if.
Senator from Kansas wants an investigation of ESPN. U.S. senator from Kansas calls for federal investigation into ESPN oh, the humanity
All these dumbasses trying to do Bowelsby's job for him. Maybe if a few of them had been more proactive in his abilities or lack thereof, as well as his performance, they wouldn't be writing worthless letters nobody in DC will ever read, much less act on.
I’m tempted to send emails to Cruz and Cornyn, just to see how they respond on this issue (or if they dissemble without really stating anything at all). Just for grins.
You really expect John Cornyn to take a stand on an issue other than which he prefers Victoria's Secret or Fredricks of Hollywood? That's the funniest post in a few months.
I wouldn't sound so high and mighty ....but now sick of all their whining. I think it would be great if UT and OU meet in the Big12 Championship...and both then go to NY6+ games, finish top10, and then leave a dust filled trail with nothing more than something like this.. (substitute peeps for actual parties involved to your own liking)
I'm approaching this with an open mind and have no expectations with regard to Sen. Cornyn's response. This will be an experiment in political science. Most likely there will be no response; or a generic response along the lines of "thank you for your comments, the Senator will take them under advisement, now please run along and vote Republican." I would be flabbergasted if I actually received a meaningful response. Let the experiment proceed ...
Of the two, I'd pick Bowelsby, but you are correct, neither has done a damn thing other than Bowelsby helping NeinASS hump the puppy.
Cornyn's office did respond, to wit: Thank you for contacting Senator John Cornyn's office. If you need immediate assistance regarding an urgent or time sensitive matter you are personally experiencing with a federal agency, please call my Dallas office at (972) 239-1310. If you are seeking information or services from my offices that are NOT related to my Legislative duties, please visit the “For Texans" section of my website for more information. Warmest Regards, Senator John Cornyn
