Is that a picture from this year?

This was a great event when I visited in the past. Unfortunately, this was a superspreader event last year. My uncle who visits annually said hardly anyone was wearing a mask. Hopefully people are more open to wearing a mask because LOTS of co-morbidity factors in that crowd.

Was this in Martha's Vineyard? They seem sophisticated so I am guessing it is okay.

Pentagon to require COVID vaccinations for all troops by 9/15. When I went through military processing vaccinations were not optional. Then again, the military was constantly injecting everyone with **** before every major deployment. Pissed florescent orange for week after getting vaxxed when a guy in our battalion came down with Meningitis.

I suspect there are a fair number of COVID anti-vaxxers in the active duty military ranks.

I think it is but I could be wrong. It would be very on brand for them to try to crowd everyone into this for a "F. U." picture. Retribution for this: [IMG]

LOL...Biden swooping in for another sniff? That's weird if so.

The thing about Sturgis is that it's 10% legit bikers and 90% tourists and corporate elites. The latter have their Harley's shipped in then they ride them around for a few days then fly back out. Lot's of bike crashes from people that have no business riding bikes with so much power.

My wife was practically begged to teach math at a DISD middle school. She accepted, then found this out today. Thankfully she hadn't signed the contract, which was to happen this morning

She called her principal from last year ( prep school), she asked my wife to come back. Right now she's attending the prep school's meeting.

In a day she went from being a DISD teacher and math chair, to the prep school she loved teaching at.

If you like your mask you can keep your mask

To be fair, you could probably get beaten up for wearing a mask in that crowd.

SIAP. This is making the rounds on the internet

According to the speaker, we've done everything wrong to fight Coronavirus.

This is misinformation. I can buy some of his mask information. However, the goal of the mask that Tom, Dick, and Harry are meant to wear to Trader Joe's is to limit their exhaust much more than screen their intake. And, the vaccines have beared out that they work statistically. Breakthrough's are happening like they do with all vaccines. There are still 99.9% of vaccinated people who have no or minor symptoms. Somehow, we've let perfect be the enemy of good.

Additionally, Florida asked the Feds for 300 more ventilators on Friday because their state supply was exhausted.

Get your vaccination, this is serious.

That's odd. I was told that this would pass quickly.

In addition to the below, Gov Abbott asked hospitals to defer all non-emergency medical procedures to free up space for Covid patients. His attempts to inhibit mask mandates are dumb.

    Get your vaccinations.

Unfortunately, the virus continues to mutate.

Pfizer already publicly recommended a booster. Expect the CDC to recommend booster shots as soon as the current surge of vaccinations passes.

And the fewer people who are vaccinated the more it propogates and mutates.

Vaccines create mutations as well. Viruses continue to evolve to beat your immune system AND the vaccine that it's going against. Israel has high vaccination rates and they're having Covid problems as well. We will need boosters.

I figured we would need boosters. For instance, we haven't moved out weight machines back into the fitness center as that was our vaccination center. I was waiting until we were past flu 2022 to get it out of the storage unit.

Help me here Bubba, if your mask protects me but your vaccinated are you saying your a vaccinated carrier? I don’t get it. Also this quote from above, “Only 1.1% cases this year in NYC through mid-July are reinfections”, does that mean one who has recovered from Covid has greater immunity than from the vaccine. I have heard that before but as one also hears these days “who do you believe”?

People don't know if they're a vaccinated carrier or not. Anecdotally, all of our breakthrough infections presented like a sinus flare up with sneezing.

Natural antibodies produce a weaker immune response than the mRNA vaccine.
    https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.04.15.440089v4.full.pdf

"Vaccination induces a more robust antibody response than natural exposure alone, suggesting that those who have recovered from COVID benefit from the vaccination with stronger and broader antibody response."

Translation: We got both kind of immunity here, Country & Western.

Your mask gives you respiratory issues. Not me.

I'll pass on a mask when possible

What you are missing is that you statement is impossible. All the exhale goes out the sides. If you are in a room with someone for more than 5 minutes you are breathing in what they exhaled. In any room that has had people in it breathing, you are breathing in their exhale. Better ventilation could help, but most buildings ventilation system isn't efficient enough to help you.

Anything that has narrow activity like a vaccine causes more mutation than normal immune response. The immune system kills more broadly, so it kills more of the virus out there.

Our best chance has already passed. We needed to protect the old and sick and have the rest of society live normally. Then the greatest amount of variants would have been killed and herd immunity would have taken over before the virus mutated too much. If not that the surviving variants would be smaller and more surviveable.

Bubba. Or the difference could be due to geography/seasonal variation not vaccination variation. Poor analysis.

As someone who works at a healthcare facility, you are probably wearing N-95. The guy beside me on the plane today with a mask that looked filthy and was not covering his nose was protecting nobody. Maybe we could have our police start acting like France by checking vaccine cards and cracking their night stick on anybody not wearing a N-95 mask properly?

I agree with this. I think the other issue is that this is man made and the CDC, NIH and Fauci are not telling the whole story. They have lied from the very beginning and were wrong on most recommendations.

States ranked by percentage of population fully vaccinated: Aug. 10

Vermont, Mass, Maine, Conn, Rhode Island
    v.
    Alabama, Mississippi, Wyoming, Louisiana, Arkansas

Now you're gonna say, "but Bubba, quit bubba-ing, there's a population density variable that's missing"

List of U.S. states by population density - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Average ranking of 15.6 v. 33. The vaccinated states average 15.6 and the bottom 5 rank an average of 33.

    Vaccinations is too easy, huh.

"Protects" does not mean 100%. It limits risk. That's it.
