    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

That seems like a very interesting clue to me.... thanks for sharing that VH4.

FWIW a co-worker of mine & huge fan - claims to a have source around the program, that has told him effectively that Card will get the start but Casey is getting his chance to try and beat him out.

Honestly I don't know if I believe that or not.

If Casey were the returning starter with a bunch of game experience, I'd say it's his job to lose. But he has been a back-up since he came to school - yes, he had a nice second half in the bowl game, but that's not a lot of experience. In a wide-open competition, with experience being a non-discriminator, it leans toward the better player - and it's beginning to sound like Card is the better player. We'll see when Sark announces his decision.

Gonna cheer for whomever is on the field but was hoping for Casey just because and then watch to see if Card could take over. I always go back to how much better Simms looked in practice but then I still pulled for Major to play.

24-17 as I check the poll.

Poll closes in a few days.... so far:

    Casey has 24: 3 TD's & a FG
    Card has 17: 2 TD's & a FG

Suspect Casey will go on to win the poll. But who cares? We all just want the best guy out there vs. ULaLa .. lead this team and WIN BABY WIN !!!

Same here. No pressure, no coverage. I'd hope he could complete that pass.

    Oh... I see now...
I was thinking we could use the pick and select a good WR,another LB, or maybe olineman!

Anyone stating this as a fact at this point is just seeking attention. I doubt Sark knows who he's going to start right now. Either one is likely to make significant advances between now and Sep. 4.

All signs starting to point to Card. I cannot say that I am not surprised.
For him to be in this position....with Casey having a head start and an impressionable Bowl performance to boot...having not only not separated himself but given ground....does not bode well for chances of CT somehow shifting momentum and going on a tear between now and Sept. 4. Whispers were always that Card probably fit Sarks mold better. Casey has done the one thing he couldn't afford to.
IMO has now moved into territory just shy of Cards to lose. Some of you better start changing your votes at the top. (You can do that. In fact....do it now)
..coming from someone who was a big CT guy and I still wish him well. FWIW

We will see. Pundits love to speculate. I’m still predicting CT until I hear otherwise from Sark. It’s still 2+ weeks, and one last scrimmage. I’m also not a huge fan of non-game performance as a basis to make such decisions.

    Fair enough.
    Heck, I don't care, Duke.
I just want a good one....whoever it is.
What I am hoping to see soon on this team is the best QB we have had since Colt. Something tells me Card may have that chance. But I dont care and you are right it is all speculation right now based on little more than a breeze in our hair.
    We will all know soon!

I’ll say this: If Sark and his staff are the caliber of coaches we hope they are, it may not matter that much, and we will really enjoy the season.

Nothing really new here...but a little perspective tucked in...from Blake Brockemeyer writing for 247..
(I've taken the liberty to insert arrows where you need to focus your eyes)

Blake's Take: "Great QB play relies on everyone doing their job and the Texas offense looked like a work in progress on Saturday. Having to decide on which of the two QBs is the starter this late is never a great sign but Sark has made it a fair competition. Someone needs to take command this week and take the job (practice Wednesday was open to the public and fans saw each QB work with the ones).
---->Casey Thompson clearly needs to be the better QB as he’s in his fourth year with the program. Hudson Card is a redshirt freshman and the future at QB. Texas’s worst nightmare is if Thompson loses and hits the portal. I’d expect to see both play.<-----

Disclosure: My son, Luke Brockermeyer, plays linebacker for the Longhorns."
