I can find reports of the 5000 to be released against 1000 Afghans being held by Taliban mentioned in the plan
But I so far haven't found that actually happened.
I find a Factcheck timeline from 2 days ago that shows the Afghan gov't did release 1500 Taliban in increments of 100 between March and Sept 2020.
Can't find so far any mention of Taliban releasing Afghans.
So not sure if this was the right thing to do.

We do know the Taliban released 5,000 prisoners after Biden abandoned Bagram.

How can any Liberal think that this Biden F'up is not worse than ANYTHING Trump ever did?

Think about it. Afghanistan was a haven for terrorists. Now they have our weapons!

 

Dude, that's Trump Monday morning quarterbacking. We have no friggin' clue what he'd actually have done.

 

True but we know two facts:

1) Biden was under no obligation to honor the deal. He changed Trump's EO's very quickly. He changed course at his own discretion and whim; without apology. And this is not like some treaty with another country that is covered by the following:

2) BIden didn't do it as described by Horn6721. He just didn't do it. That was entirely in his control. He postponed the pull-out at least once (that's what she said) and could have done it again to get it right.

 

Ok, so what would be the best comparison of a lack of leadership and planning on an actual mission that we're seeing now? Exactly what did Trump fk up this bad in terms of execution??

 

Biden just walked off the stage

First couple of questions were soft toss. He obviously had a heads up on them. Later on he takes a question from a legit reporter. Biden was frustrated by the approach, didn't satisfy the questions, walked off the stage after that first hard questioner

When he did, the press corps screams at him pleading him to take more questions. He turned his back and walked away, as he's done the past 2 press conferences

 

Biden walks away. The Mayor of Chicago doesn't like questions from white reporters. Kamala is clearly the very definition of a queen bee and is used to being on the attack as DA.

Liberals are royalty in their own mind. They cannot be questioned. What they do doesn't have to make sense because the end justifies the means. The questions out the means AND the end.

 

Fox is obviously tearing Biden a new one on fact checking. Jennifer Griffin is ripping his comments to shreds one by one

Then I turn to cnn and Clarissa Ward, on the ground outside the airport gates in Kabul, showed the chaos and confusion going on . Completely different from what Biden described in his reply from a question

That dude is in trouble right now.

 

I've always felt that Liberals are overly obsessed (fanatical) about social issues because all they care about is getting elected. Foreign policy (and the national debt) are abstracts that don't play with their constituency. So their sloppy half-assed efforts get exposed as we're seeing now.

In short, they are activists, bordering on anarchists and an activist/anarchist has no business being in power. Be the conscience, but not the ruler.

He didn't f**k this up on execution. Biden was the President and Commander in Chief. Every facet of this - the decision to withdraw and the execution were entirely Biden's call. He and his administration are 100 percent responsible.

My only point on Trump is that we don't know how he would have executed the withdrawal. I don't put a lot of stock in the Monday morning quarterbacking. And the long term problems would still arise, because he and Biden ultimately agreed on whether or not to pull out.

 

I find it hard to believe Trump would have F'd this up anywhere close to what Biden has done.

Worse (not worst) case scenario, taliban holds a handful of Americans or AFG friendlies hostage after August31. It's a possibility. They now see Biden every bit as weak as Carter was, fair or not.

The hostage crisis was seen as a boost of morale for the Khamenei regime. Iranians not US friendly saw it as a poke in the bear's eye and rejoiced. Taliban could see this as an opportunity to strengthen internal support and morale

 

After watching that clip of Trump, is there anyone here who wouldn't get Americans and interpreters out before the military? Is there anyone here who would just leave billions of dollars of tanks, helicopters and drones there for the Taliban to seize?

It's simply mind boggling that the Biden administration didn't think any of this through.

 

Jen Griffin just roasted the nuts off the pentagon press secretary on Biden's comment that al queda has no presence in AFG (they do, the secty just admitted Biden erred or lied).

The secty (john Kirby) is having to take the tough questions that Biden walked away from. It's not going well. Even the cnn questioner (barb something) is ripping him up over the incomplete or different information coming out of the administration

I bet the administration is glad this is a Friday and not a Monday. Bad press day today

 

He's senile and can't answer those questions. Obviously his handlers have trained him to just walk off whenever somebody asks anything harder than "What is 2+2?"

I'm sure they will. However, I'm pretty sure this is a matter of federal law - not a decision by the Administration, so it won't be a particularly fair criticism.

 

While it is the law, can't the President waive the fee? Asking because I really don't know the answer. Personally, I think this is a bad law as most of those stuck in Afghanistan were there to support the US mission.

Is the Us Government charging the 800+ refugees on that C-17 $2000 each or is that just for US citizens?

Based on how we the treat illegals vs, Americans I think we know the answer.

This includes, IF your INTELL tells you the Taliban are pretending to comply but are taking actions to overtake when you leave:

YOU LEAVE YOUR 2,500 NON COMBAT INTELL, LOGISTICS & MILITARY ADVISORS, AIRCRAFT MECHANICS in place to give the Afghanis backbone and support... until you are fully satisfied the Afghan government and military are FULLY IN CONTROL. If they are not, you don't leave and you F CRUSH any Taliban aggression toward the Afghan gov. and or military.

The Pentagon announced that of the 6,000 evcauated in last 24 hrs ONLY a couple of hundred were Americans.
Maybe they were the only Americans who could afford the 2k

Most of you know me fairly well and I dont get worked up often.

However, I'm so angry & pissed off about this issue for multiple reasons that I will not list here... all Americans should be pissed off about this.

The Left / Dems have already floated a theory that the American people have short attention span and we will lose interest in the Afghan exit issue.

I think the Dems have grossly underestimated how the average American citizen views this.

We left THOUSANDS of Americans behind plus Afghani allies that helped us and helped build a civil society in Afghanistan that we promised to protect. THAT may be the single thing I am most angry about in all this. 1A would be the military sacrifice we made in lives and wounded.

As a side, I would be just as pissed off if Trump or Bush did this.

In the meantime, follow Joe and the "science" and get the vaccine and wear a mask

After all, our desperate fellow Americans and Afghani allies trying to escape the barbaric and bloodthirsty Taliban are doing their part masking up!
