I do not know about hospitals, but at my funeral home the correlation to covid death and being overweight is very strong.

I view it like tithing at church. If you're an occasional visitor, no need to tithe. However, if you're a regular, you should. Ditto for here.

My favorite Sooner was the one who burglarized Switzer’s house and stole all his trophies

and Barry’s dad, raising rabbits at the state pen while Barry’s high school team was winning the state championship

who could make this stuff up?

the correlation between being overweight and almost all negative health outcomes is very strong, but the ridiculous MSM now jumps on the "fat-shaming" line and beats up anyone who identifies this issue.

I even saw something the other day where Lizo (i think) used a line like "fat-phobia".

I'm coining a new way to refer to these things....

    Fat-critical
    trans-critical
    homo-critical

allowing the left to use "phobia" against every legitimate concern, paints any dissenters as unreasonable people who unnecessarily "fearful" of a particular viewpoint. It tries to make dissenters seem like a bunch of out-of-touch wackadoos.

Define fat-phobia vs fat-critical. This is the game the left plays with words. You can try to use better defined terms, but it’s useless. Just tell them to look at the data and call them ducking stupid.

the left weaponizes this suffix to mean "Excessive, extreme, irrational, fear or panic reaction about a situation, living creature, place or object." and thereby casting doubt on the intellectual argument by painting the person as irrational. The right has to learn to counter this narrative early. I think --critical is one method to do it. The MSM will likely never repeat it, but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't.

Actually, I can see the difference btwn homophobic and homo- critical quite distinctly. But maybe that’s just me.

    Re overweight
Bill Maher on a recent show went off on vax nazis. Said that 78 percent of covid deaths involved overweight people, so why do you want ME to get a fn booster every 8 months.

Maher more and more sees the left manipulation. Still a dick, but he's coming around

Ultimately Maher is a secular liberal, and when leftism conflicts with secularism and liberalism, he will side with the right. That's why he and others like Sam Harris can be critical of global Islam in a way that most on the Left are not. It's why he's willing to attack free speech haters.

Can you describe them in general terms? Not picking, just curious. Not bi-curious, just the regular curious.

Critical I do not like or condone, phobic I’m completely intolerant to a violence prone attitude. That would be my explanation, not Webster’s.

Ultimately, we're losing our culture of free speech. We've accepted that censorship is ok so long as it's not coming from the government. Legally, that's fine, but culturally that's a destructive thing to accept. A country in which saying what you want won't put you in prison but will cost you your job, your career, and your friends isn't free. The government is now the freest institution. It's not supposed to work that way.

Homo critical to me is telling them to get over themselves and stop spewing your emotional baggage on every street corner.

But if they want to constantly draw attention to themselves then it's a free country.

Phobic to me would be the willy’s I get when I hear Heath ledger say “I caint quit you”. I can’t explain the phobia, I just have it. Cultural programming.

Critical is when I speak out against it it take hateful actions.

I'd say critical is when one speaks out against it without taking any hateful actions.

But did you notice his careful wording? If you are either critical or phobic you're bad. One by choice and one by programming, but either way you're bad and have to change.

Phobic is not bad. It's a phobia. Some people have a fear of heights. Some people have a phobia of public speaking. I worked with a girl who was freaked out by twins and little people. There are phobias against clowns - I don't know why.

Many of us have a phobia of gay things. It's not wrong or "bad" to admit that. It's bad to act on those feelings. Just scroll on by. I've never watched Brokeback Mountain. I scrolled on by. I have a daughter who's a lesbian and married. I love them both. I don't get it but I know that's how she was made and I want the best for them.

that my be your take on "phobia" but it is not the textbook definition and certainly not the implication when MSM uses it. When MSM uses that suffix, they intend to convey that the person expressing XXXX-phobia is an ignorant, non-thinker, who's backwards attitude is the result of a hate-filled upbringing or social group.

And the person saying the "ignorant" stuff is usually the one that is correct.
