One thing that worries me about the defense industry is how little competition there is now. During World War II, there was a shitload of companies selling big stuff like aircraft. Obviously, there was some consolidation after the war, which was to be expected and more after the Cold war, but now there are very few. We've got Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and General Dynamics, most of which are several old companies merged into a few. They aren't the only ones, but they're the big ones. Furthermore, there isn't a lot of competition between them anymore, which has to make one doubt that the military is getting very good deals on what they buy.

When I started at texas Instruments there were no less than 18 FLIR sources of manufacturing. When I left, there were 4. Raytheon bought our division. All of a sudden quality and customer satisfaction wasn't #1. We had the acceptable market share, things went downhill quick

And I'll bet that sort of thing happens everywhere. Hell, look at Boeing, which obviously makes large jet aircraft. In the '90s it merged with its big competitor McDonnell Douglas, which was itself a merger between two other aircraft companies. Its other big competitor Lockheed basically quit competing in the large aircraft business. So if the US military wants to buy a large aircraft (for cargo or for in-flight refueling), it can buy Boeing or buy foreign (not gonna happen).

Biden took hard hits in the senate hearing this morning. 4000 Americans left behind in Afghanistan, not the "about 100" we've been told. Also, Biden was advised to leave 2500 or more military on the ground. Milley esp **** on Biden's comment that the military agreed on the complete , hasty exit

Like I've said, Biden is calling the shots on AFG. Not a puppeteer.

Someone earlier brought up the “red flag” for veterans legislation and I just read that included in that was military draft registration for females. All in the name of equality I reckon.

So General Milley lied to Congress? Bring Federal charges to him. He needs to be shown accountability. Then maybe people will quit lieing to Congress.

Biden is rated the seventh-best president in our history.

    It’s hard to believe, but

From a total of 46 US Presidents: Biden is rated as the 7th best. The
Texas A&M's Public Relations Office released this statement: "After
just 7 months in office, Americans have rated President Biden the 7th
    best President ever."

These are the Details on the Ratings:

    1. Washington and Lincoln tied for first,

    2. Reagan and Trump tied for second,

    3. Twenty-three presidents tied for third,

    4. Sixteen other presidents tied for fourth,

    5. Jimmy Carter came in fifth,

    6. Barack Hussein Obama came in sixth, and

    7. Joe Biden came in seventh.

    Gotta' love those Texas Aggies!

Ha, don't laugh - soon any dissent from the Party will be considered domestic terrorism.

Merrick is looking more and more like his role model with every appearance:

Anyone one who saw the G20 picture taking session with clueless Biden out in the edge instead of the center understands what that does to our image in the world and Still supports Dems needs help as much as Biden does.

That video makes me sad for our country and angry with the Dems.

I wonder if one of the reasons ol Joe is on the very edge of the risers is because he had another accident.

Trump started most of the economic stuff. His response to COVID should have been to protect rights and liberty. But he violated them and printed trillions of dollars. That's on him.

Biden got us out of Afghanistan where the US military was propping up child rapists.

The country's problems isn't about Trump vs Biden. It is about the Rs and Ds both violating the rights and liberties of citizens repeatedly and stealing from us all through monetary policy.
