Well you know what Tom was thinking he wanted to reward him after his long run with getting a touchdown, but it's better to have somebody fresh in there.

Also, this board has been upset at him on several occasions for not leaving a guy in after a big run too.

Tom Herman will never be able to win on Hornfans. That ship has sailed.

IDE, that’s a bit of an absurd question. If you disagree with my assertion, state your case, as you did above. Simply, I disagree.

To your question, really? Well since you asked, Casey’s interception against Tech just five days ago was completely on him, and the coaches had nothing to do with it. Satisfied? And by the way, when you throw an ill-advised pass that’s intercepted late in a game that you completely control, I see that as a blessing in disguise, and a teaching opportunity. That happened with Sam more than once, and he learned from it. Casey will too.

BTW, anyone know the story behind CT changing his jersey number from 8 to 11? Perhaps his HS number, or his dad’s number?

I do. When Herman was fired and Sark was hired, Casey figured the team could win 11 games this year instead of 8.

Has anyone noticed that with Casey Thompson at quarterback, Texas is scoring at a rate of about 19 points per quarter? I’m telling you, I think something special is happening.

Not to speak too soon, but imagine if CT was our starter to begin 2021. Arkansas could have gone a different direction. CT would be a legit heisman candidate this week

We lose at piggie even starting CT.
And the only player on this team in the Heisman race is Bijan.

Need CT for mobility and he's doing a great job. Not sure Hudson could survive this o-line. As recruiting/coaching gets better, more likely a non-mobile qb could thrive under Sark's offense...

I do think CT pulled a Shane Buechele a couple of times and was looking downfield and didn't see the defender running right at him....

Disagree with zucker because Card is not a non mobile qb.

It doesn't matter how "mobile" the QB is if he can't read the defense; of course, it's less important to make his reads than it is for the WRs to be able to get off the damn line and find the hole in the zone.

I mostly agree. We needed CT partly for mobility and partly just for a change. He’s doing a “good” job, and the surrounding pieces are doing an okay job, except #5 and #4, who are NFL level skill position players. Good enough maybe to win the conference. But I also agree that with any semblance of a line that could hold a pocket, Card is best chance to win it all, maybe next year or whatever. Not because he’s immobile but because if the receivers actually have time to run their routes, Card is better set to complete the big plays downfield. One way or the other, what we have going is good enough to beat the teams in front of us, so of course we should not make a change.

CT keeps playing until we lose. Overall he has played great. I think CT would of lost in Arkansas, after watching the TCU game. Card would of beat Rice, Tech. Maybe TCU…I think Card should be used now and then on meaningful snaps, to keep him fresh and involved.
I was calling for Card to get replaced in Arkansas very early. He was just frustrated, scared and didn’t have it. This is a Football school not a QB school for a reason.
CT will beat OU so it is a moot point for now.

After watching Georgia demolish Arkansas, I’ve come to the conclusion that we’re better than Aggie, but not by much, and hopefully that’s not the standard. One day, hopefully, we’ll have the talent to be on the same level as teams like Georgia and Alabama, but clearly not yet. By then our qb may be Card, Maalik, or Arch. Right now let’s just “dance with who brung us,” and that be Casey so… Let’s just beat OUsux and win our conference.

It's odd how this assumption about him keeps being made.

I used to have this same argument with posters telling me Sam had a better arm than Buechele.
Shane could always throw a farther and better deep ball.
He just wasn't built to be a running back.

Probably because he practically refused to run against Arky when he had clear opportunities to do it.

My sentiment exactly. We have the talent and coaching now to win our conference. And winning now is critical to building the bullpen with talent we will need over the next 5 years. I am ok not being the best team ever right now, but in order to get where we need to go, we have to get the best out of what we have, and Casey gives us that right now.

You’re right. I apologize and stand corrected. OP deleted. The reason for the switch was: (from an Eberts Tweet)
“Cameron Dicker says that he's more comfortable with Zach Edwards as the holder because they can get more reps in practice on the side when Hudson Card is working as the backup QB.”
    Makes sense.
