Week 6 Prediction Thread...Time+Sooners=Suckage...Texas vs OU

All of a sudden out of total darkness and complete silence there was a big bang and all matter started to spread throughout the universe. At some point Earth evolved and humans populated the planet to form civilizations which spread out around this blue marble. Eventually, they all settled and developed nations. Within one of these nations, citizens fought and died for their freedom to form the United States of America...arguably one of the greatest ever seen.

There was a time in the universe where black holes reigned as supreme overlord and sucked everything in its path into its inner core, destroying it. The amount of suckage that black holes possessed was on an unimaginable scale until one day the University of Oklahoma was founded and said to the black holes of the universe..."Hold my beer."

I think Casey balls out for this one with all of his Oklahoma heritage and more attention on Bijan.

 

I believe this is the best setup for victory going in we've had in a few years.
I believe the mental hump is our biggest obstacle and we are a better team going in...first time in awhile I've thought that.
Very concerned about loss of Okafor...very.
Need to see Josh T back.
Pressure Rattler and don't let him scramble alot and we win.
Dont abandon the run..which they will stack against no doubt...but Casey must hit some intermediate-long throws to help.
Gut feeling says whichever QB blinks first his team loses...One of them will make some key mistakes.

I am torn on this one. I know we can play well enough to beat the dirt burglars. I have no idea if we will. Our deficiencies on the O-line may be too much to overcome.

With the exception of pasting a Southern Conference bottom dweller, OU has been in some close games and all their wins have been by single digit margins. They're beatable.

Yup, my exact thought this morning when I saw the prediction thread.

This team has the talent, the skill and good coaching to win. They have the will to win but do they BELIEVE they will win?

On another thread I posted that this is where the coaches have to put this game on a WAR footing. ALL GAS - ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK from the first whistle.

All week build up these guys, make them believe they will win if they truly focus, visualize winning - with an unbending desire: WE ARE GOING TO WIN !

So I apply that to myself - I believe the Horns will win a close one:

I don't like it, but that's my call. Both teams have shown weaknesses and inconsistencies thus far, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the team that's won all their games (however impressively or not) and has won the past six conference championships.
That said, being wrong wouldn't be shocking. I give us about a 40% chance to win.

 

I like the chances for Texas. The opponents of Zero U have befuddled them by hogging time of possession, keeping the ou offense on the sideline while their defense gets exposed. I think Sark and staff can develop a game plan to do just that. Yes, ou will score - probably on a quick strike. And Texas will score. The key indicator here is winning the turnover margin. Okay, here's my gut feel -

I'm already thinking my score prediction is too low.... last year was a shootout with scores in the 50's and this year may be no different. Both teams have good offenses that can score rather quick and defenses that sometimes give up some big plays....

Casey plays inspired against the team that got his Dad in all that trouble in 88'! Bijan gets his yards, and hopefully K Robinson gets more carries and catches. Defense shows up and makes key stops. Backend may struggle with OU recievers.
