4th 11:00 AM start in a row! The streak continues! With the K-State game already set for 11:00 AM, we could have 5-7 of our games with this horrible start time! With the state of our current defense, we may never get to play another night game! LOL!
Dang… a win over Boomer and this May have been the game of the week. Can’t remember this many 11 am-ers
I actually like the 11:00 AM kick time. Gives me the remainder of the day to do other stuff. Think how much more it would have sucked yesterday had we wasted a full day waiting to watch that choke job.
At least Texas has this one in the bag. Okie lite doesn't even have the counter in their playbook. Just remember, the 471, 520, 662 yards given up to Arkie, tech, gooners was just an anomaly. Texas is going to shut down okie lite just like they shut down Rice, just you wait and see. And the OL is going to look like Blalock, Studdard, Sendlein, Scott just got another year of eligibility, just watch and see.
I think we may be both getting punished with the 11 starts. I thought that the OU -Nebraska at 11:00 was offensive.
11 am games beat you up as a player. It’s hot man. Forecast is highs of 78 though this Saturday so good.
They have to beat up the players cause last one at DKR liked to kill me - figuratively of course. I know I’m old but the heat and I guess subsequent dehydration took me a day to get over completely.
I imagine when the RRS is a SEC game, it will be moved to 2:30pm. Having TX/OU then Aggy/Bama back-to-back is like heroin to CFB fans.
I agree with Shogun. I might get banned here, but I prefer the 11am so I can enjoy the rest of the day.
And I watched the A&M game in hopes to be brought back to life. Unfortunately, I went from sad to sadder.
As a season ticket holder that does not live in Austin, the 11am kick off sucks. We have to leave the house around 7:30 to comfortably get to Austin, drink a beer, get to our seats and watch the kick off. On the bright side, we stop on the way home for a good BBQ meal around 4pm. - Mike
It never was "a rivalry"; more of a nuisance. OU didn't recruit players from Nebraska and didn't adhere to their cupcake scheduling. Now, it would be roughly akin to calling our games with Rice "a rivalry" except that Rice doesn't offer the useless degree programs Osborne had to boost his graduation rates.
Why I don't have season tickets anymore. Travel and traffic has become to difficult and unloading tickets when I couldn't attend was usually a time consuming losing proposition.
As I have stated before, the 11:00 AM start is perfect when you are on your couch watching in HD. It is the worst when you live 4+ hours from the stadium (i.e. Dallas and Houston). The 11:00 AM start also kills the ticket resale market. Prices fall off the preverbial cliff.
It was also more of an aggy mentality rivalry. For the Switzer era, if Nebraska had the better team, OU was going to win. If Nebraska had the better team and the game was in Lincoln, not only was OU going to win, but the game was not going to be competitive. Think Lucy and Charlie Brown.
I understand it for the early season. But after week three, 11am games should only be used as a last resort.
It's a national game, exposure for the program. If they don't crap the bed, that should be a good thing, right? I was lambasted by some people for getting pissed about blowing a 21 point lead, but bitching about something like this is okay, I guess.
Beginning of season is the worst time to have these early games because of the heat. Bad on fans and horrible on players, but as I pointed out earlier, it is amazing the lack of cramps during our hotter than you know what games this year.
