Sark should stay a long time. He’s at 66% winning, after losing to OU in the last 2 seconds, after leading the entire game. Herman finished at 64% over 4 years. IF, we come out with intensity against OSU, and win! I can see us finishing 10-2 or 9-3. At Baylor will be tough.

Our greatest coach of all time in the 60s once said "What could've happened, happened"

He wasn't into excuses, he didn't take losses lightly. I sure do miss him

The recruiting is off the charts....we are not far away...

Caleb coming in with fresh legs didn't help...the adrenaline that his presence stirred was the difference. We had spent ourselves by that time....that and those idiotic "bringing the kickoff out of the endzone 5 yards deep" were huge blunders...then, the defense was on the field way too long....got worn down...no gas left in the tank...(that is where recruiting at the top of the charts will give us backups just as good as the starters...then, we have the fresh legs)

Saturday was my 49th and I am (and will always be) in the business of pumping sunshine...I see nothing but an incredibly BRIGHT FUTURE!!! (and maybe as soon as December!!!)

I had an OU fan tell me the same thing after the game at a bar.

OU scored on the second play of that game. Went up 17-0 fairly quick.

That's where the similarities end. It was 17-17 at the half. Texas had 553 yards, but only 225 rushing.

Yes, Stoops blew that one. 2000 hit me like a ton of bricks. The domination continues to this day.

14-0 in less than 2 minutes. 38 points at halftime. Maybe Texas will throttle OU next year and Sark dominates in the future. That would be nice.

That's how I prefer to look at it.
Rather than this team is nothing but losers from here to eternity. ;)
I know we are all tired of starting over and having first year coach/system excuses.
But until we have a coach for more than 3 or 4 years that the way it will be.
Did you see Ravens vs Colts last night?
There was much that impressed me in the first half of the RRR.
And much to disappoint me in the 2nd half.
But it was a game I had prepared myself to lose yet hoped we would win.
Coming out with our hair on fire and jumping to that lead just made losing worse.
But I think we all knew at the beginning of this season we were going to lose a game or three.
Now this is my last post on the subject.
On to the throttling of Okie-light.

    Colts were up 22-3.
    Lost 31-25.
Another example of **** happening in sports.
Momentum, refs, homefield, new or established coaching/systems, etc.
    So much comes into play.

**** does happen. Unfortunately, against OU the last 21 years, give or take a few years or so, unprecedented **** frequently happens.

The only way to view/evaluate it is at the end of the year. So far, I haven’t seen that big of a difference from Herman. Seems like we got better on offense but worse on defense. And Herman knew how to win bowls. I am impressed Sark can squat for 4 hours…
Right now it looks like this team could easily lose 2-3 more games. Baylor, Iowa State, Okie State.
At that point he’ll be underwater. If he however, wins out and beats OU he’ll look like a good hire.
    We shall see.

I dont blame him. It was poor coaching and poor execution on our part that lost the game. I said it before the game that OSU is overrated and I still believe that. We should have crushed this team.

I'm not ready to say Sark isn't the answer. I think Sark is recruiting better and I think the offense is more prolific this year than since Colt McCoy left. I honestly don't think we have the players, I think it was poor evaluation by previous staffs and not getting the DL and OL we need to compete, games are won in the trenches and we dont have them.
Its going to take at least three solid and consecutive classes to get this turned around but it has to have top lineman in the classes, not just safeties and a QB.

If Coach Sark is not the guy, we are all in trouble.

He will and should get 3-5 years. Then, if he isn't the guy we go through the Saban, Myer, Swinney, Landry's ghost pontificating. We finally hire someone, but not one of those guys or ghost. We then are right back to the "Well, he has to get his guys in place" pontificating.

If Coach Sark is not the guy, we are, again, a minimum 10 years to possible DKR/Mack Brown Glory Days.

We better all hope Coach Sark is the guy.

And, I will say, I really like him in his TV appearances on LHN. I hope he is the guy.

I predicted 8-4 for the regular season. So it's not flabbergasting that we're sitting at 4-3. The upsetting thing for me (and everyone else) is that 2 of our losses are games that we should have won.

Having said that, we need to be patient. This team (players and coaches) needs to learn how to close the deal. And sometimes that takes time. So let's see where we stand at the end of the season.

5 games remaining. Who does Texas beat besides KU to get to 8-4?

Absolutely. This is a can we don’t want to kick down the road. We will know in a few years. I don’t want another change. It would be sweet if he’s the guy and can retire here.

He has to hit the transfer portal hard for offensive linemen. For some reason Texas has not been able to recruit Olinemen for +10years. Herman had some success in Oline transfers and then inexplicidly went away from it. I hope Texas get 3-4 Oline transfers as they have seemingly missed on all top level recruits at the Oline position.

Perhaps a better question: Are any of the remaining teams better than OU?

That shouldn't be a problem. The portal is a blessing for getting quick fixes.

Okay, I'll bite. Why is that perhaps a better question?

The question was who does Texas beat of its next 5 opponents?

Is Arkansas better than OU? Is OSU better than OU? I'm not following you here.
