Bijan hopes for Heisman slipping?

Two week in a row that he was out rushed badly

Not sure if him being outrushed is an issue. He has great stats for games, like today he averaged 6.4 yards a carry with 38 yards receiving with 3 TDs. The problem might be more that we keep losing. Our winning percentage is more favorable to a Heisman candidate than how the other opponents stats stack up against him.

They're gone. Heisman winners are almost exclusively QBs from top 10 teams, and Bijan is neither of those.
Doak Walker is a possibility, and that's starting to slip.

Every RB we play moves past poor Bijan in the Heisman race. Just so sad.

Texas produces Heisman candidates, but not in a good way. :smile1:

It’s a popularity, weighted heavily by performance late in the season. We’ll see.

Bijan had a solid first half, but not much luck in the second.

Both our O and D lines are not very good. Check that, the O line is good for a half and the D line is serviceable but again, for a half, but that’s it. Plus, add in multiple 3-and-outs in the latter part of the game, the D is gassed, and is worn out by steady long drives by the opposition. The O had just 12 yards in the 2nd half, 6 straight 3-and-outs. Not conducive to winning games.

He had that beautiful run in 3rd quarter to put Texas ahead 24-13. After that, everyone went bad

7-5 teams don't have Heisman winners on them

Good point. If Texas wins out....hang on a tick...:lmao:....okay, if they win out, I wonder if any 3 loss team has had a Heisman winner.

It's over for him for 2 reasons. 1) losing but 2) not getting jack **** in the 2nd half. You can't win the heisman not getting any snaps in the 2nd half and you aren't going to get snaps if you can't get 1st downs. Where are the creative calls in the 2nd half? No jet sweeps, no reverses, nothing downfield. Sark took BR's heisman and flushed it down the toilet.

If Bijan wins the Heisman this year, he may not come back next year. This is all a big picture plan.

The biggest irony of all is that Caleb Williams will probably win it this year. Most didn't know his name until the TX-OU game!

Hmmmm, the 1998 Heisman winner came off a 3 loss team.

    How about a 4, 5, or 6 loss team?

Bijan is a rare talent, and Texas is fortunate to have him. The Horns need to get a decent OL next year to give him any chance at the trophy.

Paul Hornung won it on a 2-8 Notre Dame team. With a 3-13 TD:INT ratio. Over Jim Brown. But I'll save my thoughts about that so this doesn't get moved to West Mall.

Steve Owens won it when OU lost 4. In fact, they got pummeled those 4 times. The only reason he won is because he averaged like 40 touches per game. Well, he was good, too, but a lot of guys could get 150 yards in a game if they average 4.5 ypc and are fed the rock.

That's not nearly as funny as my comments, though.

As of late, seems the Heisman only a QB, RB or WR award. And only goes to a player whose team will play in the NC game. It's no longer the best player in College Football which would include linemen, DBs, Linebackers and so on.

Also, why not wait until the bowl games are over to present all the awards?

I'm fine with it being a regular season award, like MVP for the pro sports leagues. I just wish it actually went to the overall best player.

Not that I think Bijan is. He just doesn't get the ball in enough spaces and tight situations like Ricky and Earl did.

The way offenses have trended, it's kind of silly to award it to a guy who passes for 4K yards and a million TDs because that's sort of just the design of things. It'd be like giving Tech's QB the Heisman every year just because. I think linemen on either side of the ball should be tracked better and rewarded for that enhanced measuring of their abilities. Linebackers who make a difference beyond numbers as well.

To me the heisman is just a glitz and glitter award. Therefore, it should go to the QBs, RBs and receivers not to defense or interior linemen. Thankfully each position has its own award which is more important. Somehow the heisman is the most ballyhooed award.

Ricky was on 3 loss team when he won the Heisman, but it would take a miracle from this team to win out.

VY and Colt didn't win that "award".

    Enough said.

Educational purposes only, but here are this week's numbers...a better price even with the loss, but he still needs to pile up numbers and hope for collapses by a few in front.
