No way it’s Jimbo. He’s knocking down $9 million a year thru ‘31. If he was to be fired, Aggy would owe him somewhere around 100 million.

Could Matt Rhule enter the picture...?

He's much more of a college coach than an NFL coach.

Ok, here comes the dirt and reason coach O is done. Word on the street is he was hitting on women from gas stations to church. He hit on the wrong pregnant women married to LSU staffer.

Yeah, this had little to do with on-field results.

The question is could Woodard make lightning strike twice and match Aggie? If so wouldn’t jumbo leave so he can live on the golf course? Me thinks yes. I don’t see Woodard aiming for a non proven curve commodity. Not his style. Woodard has to start at 7 million no matter what based on his going rate comments.

Such heinous acts that LSU will let him finish out the season.

What if he's initiates the departure and isn't fired? I remember that contract the ags gave him was ridiculous, but if he resigns to go coach another team, in the same conference and division of that conference, do they owe him any money? On the other hand, we're talking about the aggys and that place is like going into another dimension.

Who knows what will happen but chew on this. LSU just fired a coach making roughly the same amount as Fisher. Fisher is buddies with LSU AD who advocated for Fisher to make big bucks w/o a buyout and still has a record very close to the guy Jimbo replaced. LSU, arguably, is "easier" to recruit than aggie, particularly now w Ou and Texas in SEC. It is reported that Aggie Adams (don't know) has kept Jimbo from the only good neighborhood (is that possible?) in collie station and LSU will let anyone into the cc. 9 years and a cc membership get Jimbo a better deal than he has now in CS.
Regardless, LSU has few options that include a ring. They just fired one of them.

    Dave,

I would argue that The Country Club is the most exclusive neighborhood in Louisiana, and yes, Jimbo would have a home & membership there.

A&M built or had built The Traditions, which is owned by or affiliated with the school. During the building, aTm managed to piss off Adams (not hard to do), who decided to build the Miramont Country Club and development, pretty much patterned after Johnny Tyson's Pinnacle Country Club.

Fisher does live in Miramont, but in a rented house.

FWIW, the club is really nice, and has a great golf course.

My opinion is that Adams is far more pissed off at A&M than he is at Jimbo.

I almost moved to CS several years ago. Miramont is awesome, and my (aggie) wife insisted that we live there, if we moved. I was all in, because it was awesome and I love my wife. There are unusual divisions in CS, I guess like UT and the various Dallas, Houston, SA, factions, but much more inbred. Just believe that Jimbo is in play because he just doesn't seem to "fit in" with ALL the CS elites. Being a renter, with 90 million in guaranteed money, in a not that expensive hood, is curious. Don't really care, but curious why you would rent if a person intends to stay for 100 years.

Did you know that Dana Horgeson (sp) never bought a house anywhere he worked until WVU made it a mandatory part of his employment? Most places he lived in a motel.

My impression is Jimbo wound up a pawn in the political rivalries of Brazos County

I have a cousin, and a close friend (same person), who is a coach. Same story, rent, rent, rent. I really could not live like that. God bless them all.

Herman might make a good QB position coach or OC for LSU. He'd certainly be in his element maturity-wise, if not intellectually, at that platform.

LSU can make aggy blink if they have to. Jimbo will go to the highest bidder and will leave the loser (and the college football world) in shock as to what he will get in total compensation.

The best thing about this is aggie will possibly lose their coach and be humiliated OR aggie will bid against themselves and Sabin will still make more money under his contract. My hope is that several teams enter into the " I will be the highest paid coach contract" and create a new green energy source.

While I have no inside information and I certainly could be mistaken, I wonder if the winner of the Jimbo sweepstakes will be the highest bidder. Perhaps Fisher just likes the opportunity better at LSU then in Collie Station. Or perhaps he and his wife just want out.

Hard to imagine otherwise. The $$ must look great to entice you there, but why would any sane person want to stay and deal with the cult school and fan base?
