World Series...time for Dusty to start making bone-headed decisions. Started with removing Garcia too early and then finished with putting Siri in as a PR with no outs and a catcher who was 2 for 43 on throwing runners out.

Should have sent Siri on the second or third pitch...instead, they wait until two outs AND d'arnaud spikes one, allowing Siri to third. So now, runner on third with two outs REQUIRING a hit to score instead of potentially runner on third with no outs where a fly ball scores a run as does a hard shot in the infield...

Can the Astros win game 5 to force the Series back to Houston? Or does the Series end tonight in Atlanta?

I just don't see the Astros winning three straight to win the series so I'd rather just get it over tonight.

You did not get your wish. The WS extends into November.

Not having Morton available to pitch last night cost the Braves. The Astros would not have scored enough to overcome a 1st inning grand slam.

Getting the Series back to Houston now sets up an additional story-line though...if Correa is gone, as some expect given the expiring contract and tractor-trailers filled with pallets of cash needed to keep him, then the team SHOULD be able to rise up and perform better for him while he allegedly feeds off of the crowd.

This replaces the potential narrative a a Rozelle-esque handing of a championship trophy to the owner that he screwed just months ago, with the handing off being in front of the very community screwed over by said commissioner...

View from Vegas has been interesting...when the Astros lost Game #4, they dropped to as much as +450. Game #5 win brought that down to +150 at one book AND they are favored tonight.

Braves are +110 to win the Series in 6 (same price as to win tonight) but 3/1 to win in 7 games while the Astros are priced at 2/1 in seven. Those were exact prices. For the overall pricing just on who wins, Braves are -240 and Astros are +200 at the South Point. Similar pricing at Circa.

Ugh, I am tired of losing to lower seeded NL East teams in odd years! What's next - Marlins over Astros in 2023???

Give the Braves credit - they were clearly the better team in the Series.

    Certainly had the better manager...

Dusty unfortunately showed AGAIN why he doesn't have a ring. The inning, above all others, that stands out is bringing in a PR with wheels to put speed on 1st with no out...and then not showing any effort at attempting to steal until there were two outs...with the inning ending and nobody having ever gotten into scoring position.

There were some other instances of mismanaging the bullpen, but they are too numerous to mention. Losing Correa is going to hurt, but we ALSO need to lose Dusty from this roster.

There will be a supreme irony if a team that had the talent to win 3 or even 4 world series titles and challenge the late 90's/early 2000's Yankees as the best team in the last 50 plus years over a 5-10 year period only wins one title and it came in a year they cheated to win. Maybe the baseball gods do know what they are doing.

The problem with talent is that it needs to gel AND avoid injury. Astros never have been able to avoid the injury bug through so much of the run...even this year, multiple players went down for prolonged periods of time.

Can you imagine if they had a healthy McCullers Jr. AND Verlander to pitch the Series?
